powerback
Has anyone been to see an endrocrinologist in this process ,I'm thinking of going to to see one to see what they would find in respect to the stress and signals my organs are getting with the madness of withdrawal . Any input is welcomed. Alcohol free since February 2015 1MG diazepam 4.5MG PROZAC.
mirage
@powerback Maybe this can shed a little light on your question? I have not seen an endocrinologist but my gyn did extensive blood work several times during this journey and my cortisol was very high and my thyroid was off, hypothyroidism. Her thoughts were that when my body becomes more regulated, all of this will go back to normal. She suggested I not take any thyroid meds because then your thyroid sleeps and you are on the meds for, possibly, the rest of your life. While my numbers are not back to normal, they have improved. I knew they were off from the withdrawal because I had blood work done in April of 2017 and all of my counts were perfectly normal. I stopped the med in May of 2017 but did not start having any withdrawal symptoms until June of 2017. I had labs drawn again in July, and that is when we found my thyroid and cortisol was, hugely off. I am glad that I never took any meds for it. I do think all will go back to completely normal when I get through this journey. Hope, perhaps this helps. Started Wellbutrin 300xl mid July, 2009. Stopped Wellbutrin 300xl cold turkey May 8, 2017 Started having symptoms started June 2, 2017. Started Wellbutrin 150xl July 7, 2017 Started Remeron 15mg August 15, 2017. Increased Remeron to 30mg October 4, 2017 Increased Wellbutrin to 300xl November 24, 2017. Lowered Wellbutrin 300xl back to 150xl January 8, 2018 Started weaning off of Remeron 30mg. Noloft
Powerback, I just met with an endo at the Mayo Clinic and came back dissapointed with no answers. I don’t think an endo can help unless there are underlying adrenal or thyroid issues beforehand such as Addison’s or Hashimoto’s. Just my take. 2001-2017-worked my way up from 25mg of zoloft and 2mg of Concerta to 200mg of zoloft and 36mg of Concerta February 2017-Stopped Concerta cold turkey September 2017-Added 2mg of Abilify November 2017-came off Abilify December 2017-began taper of zoloft 50mg a week while tapering on to Viibryd January 2018-back on zoloft 200mg February 2018--tapered off zoloft over a month onto 40mg of prozac April 2018-CT prozac due to suspected "serotonin syndrome"
