I am a combat vet when I came home from over seas I thought I was fine until about year 2 which would have been September 2009 I had a breakdown the va prescribed celexa 20mg lamotragine 200 mg and adderall 10mg.

I took those pills up until 3 weeks ago. The doctors had mentioned a concern with heart qt and said my pills could cause an issue. They decided it would be good to take my celexa down to 10mg and take the adderall away period.

I was ok for about 3 days then the heart palpitations started and sweating my stomach was in knots and I didn't understand what was happening to me. I ended up in the er on a Thursday and a Friday they kept saying it was just general anxiety I couldn't understand I was on meds for that.

It's been a little over a week and a half some of those symptoms have faded but it has been replaced with feelings of dread, extra acid in my stomach depression I feel so numb and scared all at once. Sometimes i will feel like I'll be ok then it comes back all again. I cant sleep and barely eat I contacted the va and the dr told me I had to ride it out or they would lock me up. I'm just looking for help on how to deal with this.

Hello and welcome to SA.

You are posting in the correct place. This will be your "introduction" thread, a place for you to ask questions, get support, and share your journey.

You are having withdrawal symptoms from being taken off of these drugs too quickly.

It is possible that reinstating a small amount will relieve some symptoms and allow you to taper off more slowly and safely. Please read the first page of this thread: https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/7562-about-reinstating-and-stabilizing-to-reduce-withdrawal-symptoms/

Before reinstating or anything else, the best place to begin is to share your drug history in a "signature" that will be accompany all of the posts you write here.

(You've given some of this info above, so feel free to cut and paste.) https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/18343-please-put-your-withdrawal-history-in-your-signature/

Again, welcome.

2020: After 18+ years (entire adult life) on Paxil, a dangerous doctor-led "taper" in 2015, and four years tapering off the last 1 mg thanks to SA and the Brassmonkey slide,

I AM COMPLETELY FREE OF PAXIL! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Forever.

2022: Holding on Zoloft for now. Current dose 47 mg. Hanging in, hanging on. Severe protracted PAWS, windows and waves. While I may not be doing "a lot" by outside standards, things are graaaaadually getting better

Yes, unfortunately most doctors truly don't understand withdrawal. But there are ways to handle and hopefully minimize withdrawal, and it is likely that we can help you get stabilized.

For some reason the link I posted above isn't working. Here is the link for creating a signature.

If you are able to, please keep notes on paper about your symptoms each day.

Here is some info about doing that (and Dr. Glenmullen's symptoms checklist at the top of the thread can be really helpful)
