MRothbard Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Trying to get rid of any triggering substances I can so I quit taking Cartia XT and started feeling better. Blood pressure was still high so doc put me on Amlodipine. He said two weeks until it fully kicks in. Well guess what? It's been 2 weeks and anxiety is really bad now. I'm going to see him tomorrow and telling him I'm not taking it anymore. I was feeling like I was pretty much over all this a couple weeks ago but now here I am again. Has anyone else experienced this? i know these types of drugs are often prescribed to to combat anxiety. Nevertoolate Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 My doctor suggested I go on Amlodopine to replace the Ramipril I'd been on for years as it was more appropriate for "younger" adults 😯 Anyhow I took it for about 3 weeks and that was enough for it to make be feel lethargic achy and down in the dumps (this was pre withdrawal). Interestingly since going off Lexapro my blood pressure had stabilized into a lower bracket so that's been a good thing. I hope you recover quickly from this little setback. Lexapro 10MG Almost continually for 25 odd years Reduced to 5MG beginning July 2018- end August 2018 August 2018 til now off completely
