Alice1
Yes , This is definitely the case for a lot of people in WD .. It's the case for me (as sad as it is) , and certainly for the Benzo community .. TriD
I had ringing in my ears during orgasm when I completely discontinued. Also I had sensitivity to coffee, which gave me head pressure. VincentV
My sex drive has taken a big dip and when I do orgasm its only just kind of vaguely pleasurable. Its hard to tell through the dissociation exactly what I'm felling though. I doubt its having an effect on my CNS, though its feels like one can never really be sure. Citalopram. Briefly early twenties, no ill effects seemingly. Don't remember dose. Sertraline on and off for ten years. I was ignorant and started and stopped frequently. Doses of 50, 75 and 100. I can not recall/did not record dates prior to 2018. JANUARY 2018: Last period of use was was 150mg of sertraline on 14/01/18 (which triggered extreme depression and anxiety that never settled, amongst other symptoms). I then tapered to 100mg in March (15/03/18), then down to 75mg in April(01/04/18) , 50mg later (11/04/18) 25mg in May (16/05/18), and was at 0mg in June (02/06/18). Mirtazapine 15mg: 01/08/18- 02/10/18, 15mg (6 weeks at 15mg the two week taper). - caused deeply unpleasant waves of extreme anxiety, depression, zombie state and mania. Still on 40mg of Propranolol twice a day since April 2018. Supplements: Fish oil, Magnesium, Vit B6
Armorall
It's clearly too stimulating for my CNS. I get heat rolls, wakefulness. It's too intense and if I try to use melatonin to disuade it, it doesn't do much. I feel like I heat up more in response to the .3 melatonin when I try to offset the insomnia-resulting-from-orgasm with melatonin. Just a warning for you out there if you're wondering what might be contributing to your insomnia...anyone else have this experience? 3/21/19 started Bupropion XL 150 mg 3/21/19 started Risperidone 2mg 7/7/19 start Abilify half dose 5 mg. discontinue Risperidone 7/9/19 full dose Abilify 10 mg 7/29/19 discontinued Abilify due to panicky side effects 8/2/19 Began Latuda 20 mg 8/5/19 discontinued Latuda due to similar side effects 8/10/19 discontinued Bupropion after realizing it was causing the insomnia From 8/10/19 no drugs whatsoever Currently taking vitamin C, D, E, a probiotic and fish oil. Pianca
Sorry for digging up this topic, but since it’s here I don’t want to start a new one. Did anyone experience orgasm induced waves? Elaine5
@Piancanot yet, this is new for me. I had very little ability to be interested in anything intimate for months, and now sudden waves of random intense interest, which result in a kind of mild climax and then feelings of adrenaline and anxiety and discomfort for sometimes days after. TrazodoneShouldBeIllegal18
@herod @Pianca I have noticed symptom exacerbation after orgasms too. I continue to have this happen to me. Synptoms include severe insomina. Inner tremors, mood swings, anxiety, worsening of the CNS Tinnitus we all have. These are pretty the baseline for me. Insomina and the tinnitus being the most noticeable. I get body temp changes, hot for no reason too. Exercise does the exact same thing to me as well especially if I exert myself. I just wish I knew how much longer I ll have to live like this. Celexa 10 mg started (for panic attack) and quickly stopped. From Jan 2001 to September 2001 stopped cold turkey. Celexa 10mg taken for short period of time in 2010; could not take for a long period of time due to side effects, thus only taken for about 2 months. Went through withdrawal symptoms, and protracted symptoms for at least 1.5 years. Restarted Celexa 10 mg in 2013 to 2016 off and on. (never could tolerate anything above 10mg) to due work related stress, and not because of anxiety or depression. Never could consistently take a pill daily for weeks at a time, due to side effects. Restarted in 2019 off and on again for a year, than in October 2020, cold turkey stopped. Did not know about this website, never was told how to stop or to taper since "I was not taking a high dose", suffered insomnia, elevated blood pressure, anxiety, stress, but not any real devastating symptoms. Have not swallowed a micro dust of Citalopram since October 2020, and it's October 2021 now. Started trazodone 25mg in April 5th, 2021 for insomnia, horrible choice, recommended by doctor, couldn't tolerate side effects, tapered, every other day for a month starting on April 24th, than every 2 days for 1 months in May as recommended by doctor, until last 25 mg pill swallowed on June 07,2021. What a mistake! No SSRI's or SSNI's or any psycho medications have been ingested by me since June 07,2021. And life has been hell, especially after the Trazodone was introduced. March 17th, 18th, 2022. I took a cough suppressant that contained Dextromethrophan. Took a total of 20 mg over 2 days, to suppress cough. Caused a major exacerbation of previous symptoms. Have suffered 2 Panic attacks, difficulty sleeping, anxiety which had been well controlled for at least 3 months. And also worsen my Withdrawal induced Tinnitus.
