Hello -

I do suffer and have done severely in the past with debilitating anxiety & depression - at my lowest I weighed  just 7 stone.  I was taking 100mg of Sertraline for the last year but tapered down to 50 and now nothing for about 2 months. Anyway I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations on natural vitamins/supplements to take to help maintain good mental health especially over the colder months?

I can already feel my mood plummetting and its a bit worrying!

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry you are having such a rough time but you are now in the right place.

How long did it take you to taper from 100mgs to 50mgs?

Did you Cold Turkey from 50mgs to zero?

When did  take the last dose?

Do you have any Sertraline left?

Have you taken any other meds in the last 24months, if so what doses?

Are you currently taking any supplements?

You are almost certainly entering W/D ( withdrawal ) caused by what appears to be a too fast cessation of the drug.

The only known way to mitigate W/D symptoms is to reinstate a small dose of the drug.

Please see the links below to understand what is happening to you.

The only supplements we recommend on SA are Magnesium and Fish Oil.

It is important to understand that reinstatement should be carried out as soon as possible for the best chance of success.

Do not attempt reinstatement without asking us to suggest a suitable dose.

As soon as we recieve the drugs info. we can assess your situation.

In the meantime DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGE TO YOUR CURRENT MEDS please.

Please feel free to browse the site, it is a wealth of info.

Other members threads will give you an insight and the opportunity to share experiences.

Again welcome.
