Shaful85: Baclofen withdrawal. Please help me!

Hey.
Long story short:
I took Baclofen for 3 weeks, stopped it cold turkey
And got horrible withdrawal symptoms: double vision, unsteadiness, , Dizziness, Anxiety, panic attacks, pain all over my body, insomia, Hyperthermia, Depersonalization,
Tachycardia, sweating, cogition problems, acne, herpes and more.

I read online and understood that my body/brain got addicted to it and it acts like benzos, so i need to take the same dosage that i took and then i need to taper it down slowly.
So i did, since then i still have the withdrawal symptoms, but less severe then before.
I still cant function like this and need your advice.
I m taking 18 mg of baclofen at morning, noon and night (54 mg a day).
I bought a miligram scale so i can taper slowly.
What do you think i need to do in this situation?
How do you think i should taper? And how much?
Do i need to change to a diffrent medicine with a longer half life? And if so, how?
I really need your help, no doctor knows what to do about it.

Thanks!

I am sorry you are having such a rough time but you are now in the right place.

Why were you prescribed Baclofen?

When did you take it? Dates please not relative time ie. three weeks ago.

When did you reinstate?

We generally do not recommend reinstatement of the full dose but it does depend how long you have been off the drug. This is why we need the info. I asked for.

What symptoms are you currently experiencing?

Are they the same as when you were originally taking the drug?

Are they better or worse at any particular times of day?

For the moment you should change nothing until we have the info. I asked for.

When did you start taking 54mg baclofen a day? How have your symptoms changed since you started it?

First of all, thanks for the replay. Its nice to know that there is someone who understand and know something about the situation.

I feel so alone in this.

Its seems that i did all the possible mistakes here. I feel so stuped and hate myself for that.

I dont remember specific dates. It was 3 months ago

When did you reinstate? I sopped taking baclofen after 3 weeks of use. Then stop for 1 day, almost had a hurt attack and reinstate right away.
The thing is, At first i took Baclofen at 50 mg, 25 mg two times a day. Then i read that baclofen has short half life of 6 hours. So i up the dosage to 60 mg and took it 3 time a day, morning noon and night (stuped i know)

What symptoms are you currently experiencing? Every few days, as i taper, i develop more symptoms. My correct symptoms are: Dizziness, blurred vision,Depersonalization- derealization, insomia, tinnitus, tremors, Eczema (face, hands and genital), acne, herpes, numbness of hands and feet, itching all over, no aptite, weight lose and more....
Its like my imunne system shuted down and i developing more symptoms and Diseases.

Are they the same as when you were originally taking the drug? No. I add more and more symptoms as i continue with my taper

Are they better or worse at any particular times of day?
I think they are worse at night

What do you think i should do?

Unfortunately the info. you have given does not really help because the timeline is relative.

1:Was this your starting dose before you stopped for one day?

2:Is this the dose you reinstated on ie. 180mgs per day in total?

3:If you reinstated at 50mgs, when did you updose to 180mgs?

4:Did the symptoms get worse after you increased to 180mgs?

I m trying to taper off baclofen.

I m taking it 3 times a day.

18 mg in the morning. 18 at non and 18 mg at night.

I m getting very bad withdrawal symptoms.

I know baclofen has a short half life of 5.5 hours.

I know i need to switch to something who has longer half life but there is no Information how to do it with baclofen.

Should i split the dose to 4 times a day?

Shaful, I moved your post off the benzo forum. Please keep posting here in your main intro thread since your questions are about baclofen.

Does baclofen help you sleep at night? If so, you may want to keep more of your dose at night than during the day.

If you decide to split it out from 3 to 4 times a day, you'll need to do so gradually, moving your dose one hour per day. This is gentlest on your nervous system.

Please add a signature with your drug history. Month and year is fine if you don't remember the exact date. A direct link to your signature is here:

Are you taking any other drugs besides baclofen? Are you using any supplements? If so, please also add them to your signature.
