I've been antidepressants close to 30 years. I've tried prozac, paxil, zoloft, wellbutrin, most of the SSRI meds. I have no record of the dates and doses. I'm on Pristiq now and have been for over 5 years. I take 100mg/day.  I really feel this is no longer helping me and want to discontinue the drug.

Welcome to SA, Luvtoride.  It's very good that you came here before you began your taper.  This site exists to help members taper off psychiatric drugs and deal with any withdrawal symptoms that may occur.

We recommend tapering no more than 10% of your current dose every four weeks.

Why taper by 10% of my dosage?

The following link is specifically about tapering Pristiq, including how to get the non-standard doses you'll need for your taper.  Pristiq is a problematical drug to taper because of its formulation and the limited number of doses available  Please read this entire link before attempting to taper.  The link offers several options for your taper.
