Nomansland
ADMIN NOTE 9 hours ago, Nomansland said: the URL of the german taper forum is www.adfd.org Hello everyone, ive translated the "stopping antidepressants" document from the Royal College of Psychiatrists into german. (You can download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1niFEWe_bynWNgSRbUZc9JvKk39ZDKzpZ/view?usp=sharing) Because this leaflet is a chance for patients getting more support from the medical community and hopefully will change the position of some medical practitioner, we could work together to make it available in other languages. My idea would be to use https://www.deepl.com/en/translator (like Sheep and ChessieCat suggested) for the rough translation. At least from english to german, it seems pretty accurat, with a few odd words which need to be changed afterwards. This could be done by members who are able to speak that specific language. This translation can then be implemented into the pdf quite quickly. The withdrawal plans are pictures and need to changed manually. Its a bit annoying to change these, but overall (given you have the accurat translation of the text in the pictures) its also not tooooo much work. Also, i would always include the release date of the original document and a link to the original website of the leaflet on top of the first page. I know some members here are able to speak french and other languages. In my opinion, we should at first work to translate it into French, Spanish, Portuguese and maybe Russian, because these are also availabe in deepL. Would be great if you let us know if you are able to speak these languages. Nomansland
Hello @Altostrata, thats a good idea! I will start these topics in the next few days. Meanwhile, ive started to prepare some google docs documents. Each document will contain the first "rough" translation and can be edited online with a browser. So, members who are able to help dont need to download something or transfer documents. Also, i can try and ask in the german taper forum for members who are able to help.
