daynaselena1122
I’ve been on Effexor 150 for about 3 years now and I just stopped three days ago and replaced it with Wellbutrin 150. My doc told me it was ok to cold turkey and just start the new one, she told me I won’t get the Effexor withdrawals because the Wellbutrin is in the same family so it was ok to do this .. I was reluctant but followed her instructions … I’m feeling weird . Pulse was 110 (a lil high for me ) , I’ve been hot and sweaty and on the mf’n edge , and anxious and a lil doomy!!! This is day 4… was anyone in these shoes before with the same/similar situation ? Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus Shep Posted January 28, 2022 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted January 28, 2022 Welcome to Surviving Antidepressants. I would stop the Wellbutrin and return to Effexor at the same dose immediately. Three days is not long enough to develop a dependency on Wellbutrin and you're likely getting withdrawal from Effexor. Please let us know how you're doing. Also, are you here to come off antidepressants or are you simply looking to switch drugs? Please note we cannot help you change your drugs. We can only offer a harm-reduction method of slow tapering to reduce or stop your drug. 1 Link to comment
