Moderator Emeritus Shep Posted December 21, 2022 Moderator Emeritus Posted December 21, 2022 Researchers Identify Factors to Predict Risk of Antidepressant Withdrawal By Peter Simons, published December 19, 2022 Includes Altostrata and Surviving Antidepressants. A short read with a lot of great links for those who wish to explore more. I thought this part was important: Quote Interestingly, perhaps because of its longer half-life, they found fluoxetine (Prozac) to be less likely than other antidepressants to cause withdrawal symptoms, while paroxetine (Paxil, which has a short half-life) was associated with the highest risk. However, it is also possible that fluoxetine (with its longer half-life) may cause delayed withdrawal symptoms that were not picked up in short-term trials. We have a number of members struggling to get off Prozac, so it's important to note that the concept of it being easier to withdraw from may or may not be the case due to the short duration of the trials. 1
