Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Tied to Serious Long-Term Harms | Psychology Today

I hadn't realized that the US FDA finally put a warning about withdrawal on benzodiazepines in 2020. After reading this it seems that some clinicians in the US are finally starting to listen to their patients which is of course a very good thing and very refreshing to read. Hopefully this catches on with all of the other psychiatric medications as well and my guess is that with what is happening in the UK it will sooner or later start to catch on in other areas of the world. Change is coming 😁

Excellent find, @FeralCatman. Thanks for posting the link.

For those who haven't seen the FDA's latest report, here is more information:

Exactly. Yes, when these connections are made, the narrative of "more harm than good" may catch on more and more. All of these drugs carry the potential for withdrawal, sometimes severe withdrawal, for weeks, months, and even years.

@Shep Any information I can find that adds to the body of evidence against these medications I will post so others can see. The more evidence that can be placed on one resource the better so it becomes easier to find. This craziness needs to stop.
