Meds in media

I'm seeing the "character has a life issue, then goes on medication and life is sunny and good again" subplot more and more in recent years. It's got me thinking how companies will pay for background advertising by having their brands subtly featured in things; could pharma companies be giving funding to have psych meds featured in a positive way? I know it's more likely that tons of people all over the world are on psych meds and it's normalized as the go-to cure, but it wouldn't surprise me to have it be some subtle advertising either.

Anyone else noticed this more and more as years go by? It's starting to become a too-predictable trope. While watching a show, I'll dryly tell my partner, "Don't worry, in a couple episodes she'll be on medication and feeling fine," and boom - every time. Sometimes the dialogue feels like an ad, "I thought meds would change my personality, but I feel more like me than ever!"

It's even been set to music.
