Jake94: Best scales for tapering

Recommended Posts

So the last scales i got were off amazon and i paid roughly 20-25£. But when i wanted to measure put 10 percent off a 10mg diazepam it just did not work well at all. The scales needed to be way more sensitive as i would take a big chunk away off the tablet that i had crushed up and the scale number would not move. So long story cut short does anyone have suggestions for the most accurate scales?

Most of us use the Gemini-20 scales manufactured by American Weigh Scales. You can buy them in the UK on Amazon and Ebay.

You might prefer to transition to a liquid taper now you're down to 10mg diazepam, it allows you to reduce by smaller increments as you can alter the dilution ratio. Alternatively you can ask your GP to prescribe the liquid to assist you in tapering off.

Active Monday-Friday UK time

MEDICATION:

1) Sertraline:

50mg - Oct 2020, 100mg - Dec 2020, 50mg - April 2021, 75mg - May 2021, 50mg - Sep 2021; Failed taper attempt (50 -> 49) - Jan 2024; Second attempt to start taper - 17 Feb 2024

Current dose: 48.9mg (Feb 2024)

2) Mirtazapine:

15mg  - Nov 2020

SUPPLEMENTS:

Cod liver oil

unfortunately our gp wont prescribe it to my mum so she gets what we think are fake ones online which is less than ideal. We tried our best to get the gp to prescribe it to my mum explained the ashton method even showed them the nhs guidelines talking about the ashton method but they told her to just carry on taking the fake ones, insanity.

Sorry this is happening. Is your account set up in order to assist your Mum in tapering?
