Daisygal70 Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 (edited) Hi. I have been on/off (but mostly on) SSRIs for 25 years. Most recently, I weened myself off 60mg of Prozac. Went to 40mg x 1 month, then 20mg x 1 month and now have been off x 1 month. I also take SAM-e as an adjunct, I have not stopped this and don’t plan to as I have the MTHFR mutation as well as a slow COMT mutation so I don’t methylate well. I’m having some brain fog, brain zaps, irritability and fatigue issues. Just wanting these symptoms to end! The reductions get smaller and smaller each month. Why taper by 10% of my dosage? 8 hours ago, Daisygal70 said: I’m having some brain fog, brain zaps, irritability and fatigue issues. Given your rapid taper, it's not surprising that you have some WD symptoms. I had days when I was shaking from cold so much I couldn't stop stuttering. Tempetature regulation issues are temporary, you can manage them with some heat, just don't overheat yourself. 22.10.2020 sertraline (50 upped to 100mg for two months) and pregabalin (150mg for half year) 2021 mirtazapine (30mg for some months), amitryptyline (cascading dose but doctor took me off it before reaching five tablets), olanzapine (5mg), lithium (this one I reacted to terribly as well, maybe due to my Hashimoto disease) 2022 duloxetine, reboxetine, venlafaxine (all unsuccessful attemps stopped after one day with no side effects following days, only reboxetine pushed through with one box) 2023 mainly bupropion (150mg stopped after few weeks, 300mg stopped after few another weeks, 150mg stopped after few months) until IAR, buspirone (5mg) tried for 3 days autumn 2023 - 150mg bupropion daily, 12.12.2023 - bupropion stopped, 16.12.2023 - 100mg sertraline, 18.12.2023 - 150mg bupropion, 19, 20 & 21.12.2023 - 150mg bupropion & 5mg buspirone, Nothing ever since 21.12.2023, but 25mcg levothyroxine since around summer 2023 until 10.07.2024 for Hashimoto disease (non-psychiatric drug) First wave: 18.07.2023; immediate adverse reaction to sertraline and first CNS crash: 16.12.2023: late onset protracted withdrawal from bupropion: 13.04.2024; third crash: 16.07.2024; currently still in acute phase of PAWS as of September 2024
AAOffZ Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Girl, yes. I have waves of being freezing. It’s unreal. I mean my house is cold and it’s cold outside. I guess ive always been a freeze baby, but now i get so cold that i shake and shiver!!!! It’s definitely a symptom of CNS dysregulation from what I’ve heard! Various up and down doses of Sertraline (25 mg-100mg) since 2016 due to undiagnosed OCD. Eventually tried 150 (Feb 2024) as a last ditch effort to feel better. Kindled/ horrible ADR to 150mg dose. Doc suggested lowering Sert and add Buspar. Started 2.5 mg 3x per day same day at going down to 100 mg Sert. March 2024- felt worse. CT’d buspar and dropped down to 87 mg Sert. Intermittent .25 or .50 Xanax use. Like once a week. Haven’t taken it since April 2024. Found SA, stopped the madness. (April 2024) hold at 87 mg and stabilized in 4ish months despite original anxiety flares. Diagnosed with OCD (October 2024)—started therapy. Sertraline taper journey: (8.31.24) 84.6mg • (9.22.24) 83.9mg • (11.25.24) 82.6mg <- CURRENT 0.25 mg melatonin occasionally—Tried other supplements; reacted terribly. Super sensitive to everything since kindling
Dahlia50 Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 @AAOffZ I have it too, get freezing cold sometimes and freeze a lot. It feels strange to freeze as if the body is unable to adjust the temperature. Never been like that before. 2007 Zoloft 25mg (2008 50mg) 2022 May - Dr wanted to increase to 62,5mg. Misinterpreted by Dr, it was tolerance/side effects. Felt sick, went back to 50mg efter 2 weeks. 2022 Oct - Reducing dose to 37,5mg (from 50mg). WD in few days, advised to go back to 50 - I then got adverse paradoxical reaction 2022 Oct - Zoloft 50mg adverse reaction 2023 May 5th - Reducing dose to 25mg (directly from 50mg by Dr, difficult WD). 2023 Aug 1st - Reducing dose to 12,5mg 2023 Oct 10th - Removed dose from 12mg to zero by Dr. Reinstated 2,5mg citalopram after 3 months, bad reaction. Reinstated 0,5mg zoloft for 6 days after 7 months, didn’t work. In terrible WD.
Daisygal70 Posted April 6, 2024 Author Posted April 6, 2024 Yeah, it’s almost unbearable at times, I cannot get warm even with the heater blasting and blankets!
