Palperro: Polydrugged For Over 10 Years and Want to Reduce Meds Now

I have an appointment with my pdoc coming this week. The pdoc is going to try and figure out which meds need to get tapered first. Here is a list of the meds that I am on now.

 

800 mg Seroquel XR - allows me to sleep but I'm concerned about diabetes

1000 mg Depakote ER - mood stabilizer

3 mg Klonopin - another sleep / anxiety medication

.25 mg Requip - Parkinson's drug

1 mg Cogentin - to stop tardive dyskenia

300mg Trazadone - sleep med

 

Seroquel XR is the only med that I am not kindled on. Thanks.

Given your current list of medication, you may find some insight into where to start by reading Taking multiple psych drugs? Which drug to taper first?. Generally speaking, we advise that people start with the more activating drugs first before addressing those that are sedating but you are on multiple sedating drugs so it might make sense to lower that load.

Are you currently experiencing symptoms of kindling?
