Thank you for the link. I have just watched the full video, and it seemed like an excellent summary of this terrible situation.  All the more so, because the personal stories are so relatable.

In my case, I was in a very unhappy marriage, certainly not helped by the various antidepressants that my husband said I should take. My short stay in a psychiaric unit was my only option when my husband tried to get me to leave our house. That's when I was prescribed quetiapine.  If only I had had somewhere to go, away from my husband, I think I would have been OK, because I knew I needed to leave anyway. The best thing about my hospital stay was that I started to take care of myself.  I started to read again, and do things for me.

My husband was a very troubled individual, possibly with an underlying neurological disease, who died of a massive brain tumour, at the age of fifty. The medical intervention, and the drugs were a disaster for him, and our adult children. Call me cynical, but I have lost all faith in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.

As an aside, my battle with insomnia has led to my listening to hours and hours of speech radio during the long nights. They cover all sorts of current topics, yet nothing about psychiatric drugs, that I am aware of. There really seems to be a conspiacy of silence. And yet, in my small circle of acquaintances, I know of six people enmeshed in this awful situation.

It really makes you wonder.

Early 2000's to 2018, tried fluoxetine, duloxetine, amitryptiline, citalopram, setraline, with little effect.

2018 fluoxetine 20mgs and quetiapine 50mgs. Only took 25mgs.

November 2023,  CT  fluoxetine, then quetiapine.

June 14 2024 reinstated 0.1mg of fluoxetine.

Supplements magnesium glycinate, vitamin B12, vitamin D, vitamin B6, fish oil capsules.
