Administrator Karma Posted October 26, 2013 Administrator Share Posted October 26, 2013 Hi Crazyhillbillyboy, Cipro is a nasty antibiotic and it can cause severe withdrawals when mixed with antidepressants and especially with benzodiazepines. If you have to take it, then you have to, but it is helpful to know that the wicked symptoms one can experience when mixing it with an AD or benzo are just caused by Cipro. Please tell us more about how much celexa you were on, how you were tapering and what the dose was when you went off of it cold turkey. How long have you been off of it? When you get a chance, please add a signature that identifies your drug withdrawal history http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/893-please-put-your-withdrawal-history-in-your-signature/. Whenever you post your signature will show up and will be a ready reminder of what you've experienced so that mods and members can provide more meaningful responses. This site advocates for a slow, controlled reduction off of these drugs to minimize the negative symptoms. But many of us have found that it is normal to cycle ... we actually call it waves and windows. What symptoms are you currently having? Welcome to our site - you will find lots of support here. Moderator Emeritus Petunia Posted October 26, 2013 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted October 26, 2013 Would you say that over the last 2 years since your bad reaction to Cipro and stopping the Celexa (ct), your symptoms have generally improved, stayed the same or got worse? Has anything changed in your life lately, or has anything happened which may have caused some stress? In a nervous system which hasn't completely healed, an increase in stress can sometimes bring on increased symptoms. How often do you take Ambien now? I'm not a doctor. My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one. My Introduction Thread Full Drug and Withdrawal History Brief Summary Several SSRIs for 13 years starting 1997 (for mild to moderate partly situational anxiety) Xanax PRN ~ Various other drugs over the years for side effects 2 month 'taper' off Lexapro 2010 Short acute withdrawal, followed by 2 -3 months of improvement then delayed protracted withdrawal DX ADHD followed by several years of stimulants and other drugs trying to manage increasing symptoms Failed reinstatement of Lexapro and trial of Prozac (became suicidal) May 2013 Found SA, learned about withdrawal, stopped taking drugs...healing begins. Protracted withdrawal, with a very sensitized nervous system, slowly recovering as time passes Supplements which have helped: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Taurine Bad reactions: Many supplements but mostly fish oil and Vitamin D June 2016 - Started daily juicing, mostly vegetables and lots of greens. Aug 2016 - Oct 2016 Best window ever, felt almost completely recovered Oct 2016 -Symptoms returned - bad days and less bad days. April 2018 - No windows, but significant improvement, it feels like permanent full recovery is close. VIDEO: Where did the chemical imbalance theory come from?
