btdt
I was given mirapex early on could not take it but just read it may help protect mitochondra... and came to that old word again phosphorylation... here http://www.alsworldwide.org/documents/EFFECTS... lead me right back to information Alto put on long ago from an email from a doctor... I can't find the original info and would like to read it if you still have it Alto... apparently it was in an email you received from Dr.Shelton do you still have a copy of this and could I read what he said since it has been deleted from the other site... Sheas post may ring a bell for you "SOOOOOOOOOOOO, what exactly does all this mean for someone who does not have the option of ever going back to an SSRI? Is de-phosphorylation inevitable, given enough time? That's what I want to know. I've never had anxiety/panic, prior to withdrawal and I have had trauma in my life. My pre-existing anxiety pathways were not altered by the traumatic experiences I had, which is what Dr. Shelton is saying would happen to those genetically predisposed to respond to trauma in such a profound fashion. Why is it that this trauma would be any different from the others?? The only thing I can surmise is that the lack of the serotonin caused by discontinuation disrupted my body's ability to moderate an alteration to my CNS. I'm feeling a wee-bit unlucky right about now." feeling unlucky myself lately I know how she feels... who is Dr Shelton ? can you help me understand this please? Meimeiquest
It is there...you can use the search word genomic...I just remember it being in the text 1st round Prozac 1989/90, clear depression symptoms. 2nd round Prozac started 1999 when admitted to dr. I was tired. Prozac pooped out, switch to Cymbalta 3/2006. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder due to mania 6/2006--then I was taken abruptly off Cymbalta and didn't know I had SSRI withdrawal. Lots of meds for my intractable "bipolar" symptoms. Zyprexa started about 9/06, mostly 5mg. Tapered 4/12 through12/29/12 Wellbutrin. XL 300 mg started 1/07, tapered 1/18/13 through 7/8/13 Oxazepam mostly continuously since 6/06, 30mg since 12/12, tapered 1.17.14 through 8.26.15 11/06 Lithium 600mg twice daily, 2.2.14 400mg TID DIY liquid, 2.12.14 1150mg, 3.2.14 1100mg, 3.18.14 1075mg, 4/14 updose to 1100mg, 6.1.14 900 mg capsules 7.8.14 810mg, 8.17.14 725mg, 8.24.24 700mg...10.22.14 487.5mg, 3.9.15 475mg, 4.1.15 462.5mg 4.21.15 450mg 8.11.15 375mg, 11.28.15 362.5mg, back to 375mg four days later, 3.4.16 updose to 475 (too much going on to risk trouble) 9/4/13 Toprol-XL 25mg daily for sudden hypertension, tapered 11.12.13 through 5.3.14, last 10 days or so switched to atenolol 7.4.14 Started Walsh Protocol 56 years old

btdt
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8564731 [Effects of chronic administration of antidepressants on microtubule assembly in rat cerebral cortex].[Article in Japanese]Miyamoto S, Asakura M, Sasuga Y.Author informationAbstractWe examined the effects of chronic treatment with several types of antidepressants on microtubule assembly and phosphorylation of microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) in the rat cerebral cortex. The microtubule assembly was monitored in turbidity at 350 nm using a spectrophotometer. Chronic but not acute treatment with desipramine (DMI), maprotiline (MPR) or citalopram (CTR) inhibited microtubule assembly, assayed in the presence of protein phosphatase inhibitors (PPI). In contrast, this inhibitory effect was completely nullified in the absence of PPI. The three compounds had no direct effect on microtubule assembly. The phosphorylation of MAPs (MAP2 and tau) was investigated by immunoblotting with monoclonal antibodies (phosphoserine, phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine) after immunoprecipitation of MAPs. The serine but not threonine or tyrosine phosphorylation of MAP2 was significantly increased after chronic treatment with DMI, MPR or CTR. The phosphorylation of tau was not altered following chronic administration of antidepressants. These results suggest that the inhibition of microtubule assembly observed after chronic antidepressant treatment is attributable to an increase in the phosphorylated MAP2 and this effect may represent a novel and common action of typical and atypical antidepressant agents. Our results show that besides second messengers system, protein phosphorylation might be involved in the therapeutic effects of antidepressants.
