GiaK Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all…that in the middle of winter, I finally found that within me there lies an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger–something better, pushing right back. – Albert Camus More posts related: The emotional spectrum Healing through the dark emotions Reality is the full spectrum On Staying Sane in a Suicidal Culture Let your pain tell you that you are not alone Transforming despair How I deal with mental breakdowns Everything Matters Everything Matters: Beyond Meds https://beyondmeds.com/ withdrawn from a cocktail of 6 psychiatric drugs that included every class of psych drug.
Gem Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Thank you Gia. I love this quote, particularly the part about having something stronger and better pushing right back. I came off Seroxat in August 2005 after a 4 month taper. I was initially prescibed a benzo for several months and then Prozac for 5 years and after that, Seroxat for 3 years and 9 months. "It's like in the great stories Mr.Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it's only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines it'll shine out the clearer." Samwise Gamgee, Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers
