shelby
I woke up with a flood of crazy thoughts. Like a dream where you go from one scene to another and you can't control it. It's like someone is controlling your mind remotely. Anyone else? 40 year old male - First panic attack in May 2012 May 2012 Atenolol (beta blocker)25mg, Ativan 2mg August 2012 Rapid taper ativan, started zoloft 25mg Dec 2012... rapid taper zoloft, January 2013 Xanax 1mg for 1 month February 2013 Klonopin 1mg April 2013 to May 2013 Rapid Taper Klonopin to 0.5mg June 10th 2013 jumped from 0.5 Kpin and Atenolol 25mg July 2013 two days of Ativan 1mg b/c of hospital visit September 2013 started Effexor 75mg (this was a mistake i think) July 2014 to October 2014 tapered off Effexor... Moderator Emeritus Petunia Posted April 24, 2015 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted April 24, 2015 Yes, I used to get this every morning, really bad, like you wrote, just like someone else in in control. I wrote a bit about it in the post on my thread here: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/4278-petunia-recovering-from-13-years-of-antidepressant-use/?p=60481 Taking Taurine can help with this, it doesn't work for everyone, but some others here have found it helps. Apparently, Taurine works on on GABA receptors, so you may want to do some research and take this into consideration. Early morning waking with racing thoughts is a common withdrawal symptom. I'm not a doctor. My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one. My Introduction Thread Full Drug and Withdrawal History Brief Summary Several SSRIs for 13 years starting 1997 (for mild to moderate partly situational anxiety) Xanax PRN ~ Various other drugs over the years for side effects 2 month 'taper' off Lexapro 2010 Short acute withdrawal, followed by 2 -3 months of improvement then delayed protracted withdrawal DX ADHD followed by several years of stimulants and other drugs trying to manage increasing symptoms Failed reinstatement of Lexapro and trial of Prozac (became suicidal) May 2013 Found SA, learned about withdrawal, stopped taking drugs...healing begins. Protracted withdrawal, with a very sensitized nervous system, slowly recovering as time passes Supplements which have helped: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Taurine Bad reactions: Many supplements but mostly fish oil and Vitamin D June 2016 - Started daily juicing, mostly vegetables and lots of greens. Aug 2016 - Oct 2016 Best window ever, felt almost completely recovered Oct 2016 -Symptoms returned - bad days and less bad days. April 2018 - No windows, but significant improvement, it feels like permanent full recovery is close. VIDEO: Where did the chemical imbalance theory come from? shelby
Thanks for the reassurance. This was a new symptom for me, opposite of waking and feeling brain dead which I have often.
