Leo1983
Ok - Likely that your symptoms are coming from stopping Escitalopram. These symptoms can last many months. Lexapro is a powerful drug and difficult to stop. Trazadone should be well into your system now. However you may be suffering side effects of this drug also. It sounds like none of the drugs have helped you in any way. So is it not best to stop both drugs?. You are not going to be able to stop these drugs without suffering. It is as simple as that!!!!. You need to slowly stop the Trazadone also. You need to take the advice from this forum. You may also need to take time off work until you feel better. There is only 1 road..... you need to walk it slowly. May 2016 - Aug 2016 - Prozac 20mg March 2017 - June 2017 - Sertraline 100mg. Horrific withdrawal 5 m onths. July 2017 - Aug 2017 - Mirtazapine 15mg. Horrific. August 2017 - December 2017 Fluoxetine 10mg for 2 weeks ghen Escitalopram 20mg for 12 weeks. Never felt normal since this. Or baseline. Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted August 31, 2018 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted August 31, 2018 (edited) Hi Asta, I'd hold for just now on further tapering. (if I were you I would) As you just essentially CTed (cold turkeyed) off your escitalopram on the 30th of July. How can I help you with the signature? Do you have any previous drug history? Are you on any other medications now? I have the following information from your previous posts: 2018 17 March escitalopram 5 mg 8 June escitalopram 2.5 mg 30 July escitalopram stopped 28 April Triticco(trazodone) 75 mg Do you have a doctor that you see that is well versed in WD? Unfortunately, it's a rarity. The drug interactions between trazadone and escitalopram are quite yucky as well.......I'm not sure that this doctor is paying attention. I'll copy on over what I found in drugs.com for you to look at regarding those 2 drugs. Is there any way you can post like you did in your first post. The large blue background font is very difficult to read and access. And we really do need for you to be able to understand a little bit more, so that you can make decisions. Do you have someone who could help you read and interpet some of the links that you have been given? And how are you doing today? Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted August 31, 2018 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted August 31, 2018 Interactions between your drugs Major: traZODone escitalopram Applies to: trazodone, Lexapro (escitalopram) Using escitalopram together with traZODone can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Severe cases may result in coma and even death. You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms during treatment. In addition, combining these medications can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious and potentially life-threatening, although it is a relatively rare side effect. You may be more susceptible if you have a heart condition called congenital long QT syndrome, other cardiac diseases, conduction abnormalities, or electrolyte disturbances (for example, magnesium or potassium loss due to severe or prolonged diarrhea or vomiting). Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks, but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you and has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations during treatment with these medications, whether together or alone. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor. Drug and food interactions Moderate traZODone food Applies to: trazodone Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of traZODone such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with traZODone. Do not use more than the recommended dose of traZODone, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. Switch to professional interaction data Moderate escitalopram food Applies to: Lexapro (escitalopram) Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of escitalopram such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Asta
Hi manymoretodays, I am now taking Trazadone 75 mg, I did not take any psychotropic drugs before. It's been 5 weeks since I finished taking Escitalopram. I feel better, anxiety is small. Sometimes hard to breathe, especially when I'm flipping the stairs. A sore throat and ears, a bad sleep, a skin sensation. I would like to slow down Trazadone. Asta
There is no organization in my country that helps with symptoms of withdrawal. All doctors believe that the dose should be increased because the symptoms can only last for 14 days. I was thinking, as it may be, if I did not have such symptoms before the drugs, and I found this site. When I started taking Escitalopram and had horrible side effects, the doctor told me to increase the dose. Leo1983
Hi hope your ok. The reason the GP wantd to keep you on the medication is because they only know what the pharma company tell them. Its a big sales ploy! Do you think these medications would sell if they told people about what we are all suffering?. No is the answer. Best thing to do is reduce Trazadone slowly until your off it. Take each day and wait until your body returns to normal state. Just my opinion. May 2016 - Aug 2016 - Prozac 20mg March 2017 - June 2017 - Sertraline 100mg. Horrific withdrawal 5 m onths. July 2017 - Aug 2017 - Mirtazapine 15mg. Horrific. August 2017 - December 2017 Fluoxetine 10mg for 2 weeks ghen Escitalopram 20mg for 12 weeks. Never felt normal since this. Or baseline. March 2018 - June 2018 - Escitalopram 5mg for 12 weeks. Stopped and here i am full of symptoms i never had. Link to comment

Asta
Hi, I think that these symptoms are less severe. The lack of air in a day occur in about 5 times, airshortage is higher. Difficult to breathe, especially when I am flipping the stairs and standig up. Sometimes feel sick, headaches, sore muscles, bones, pain in the neck, but not long. Anxiety less, sometimes sleep better, sometimes worse. Last week sleep is bad. I slept well this night. Leo1983
Ask for advice on the forum. If you reduce it should be small reductions. Also you are already managing symptoms from one drug, would it be wise to wait until you stop withdrawal from Lexapro?
Asta
I don't know what to do. One day I think that needs to be increased to 1 mg Escitalopram, the next day I want to reduce the Trazadone. It is very difficult. In my country there is no liquid, tablets 150 mg of Trazadone, I cut them. It is difficult to cut them exactly. They are insoluble in water. Last night appeared anxious. This night slept very badly, feel sick, sore muscles and bones. Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted September 4, 2018 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) Hi Asta, What are your W/D symptoms like now? You are 5 weeks out from the escitalopram. Back on page one are the relevant links for you to read through, and this should help with your decision making. It looks like you CAN make a liquid with Trazadone, although I'm a bit hesitant to get you going on that at the moment........ as it's not real clear yet what your symptoms are right now. For example, if you are only having symptoms at night.......that's not too bad, all things considered. The nervous system really appreciates stability. Do the best you can with pill cutting. If you line up the pill in a pill cutter and close down the lid quickly it is fairly easy to get consistent cuts that way. Take your dose at the same time every night. Can you do a real simple format for us? Put the time on the left, then include drug(and dosage) and any symptoms throughout the day and night. Something like this: Keeping daily notes of your symptoms Love, peace, healing, and growth, mmt p.s. you have a nice clean, clear signature now. Did you notice? Administrator Altostrata Posted September 5, 2018 Administrator Share Posted September 5, 2018 Please don't change trazodone at all while you still have withdrawal from escitalopram. Since you went off escitalopram in March, your withdrawal symptoms have lessened and your sleep has gotten better, is that correct? Are your symptoms worse at any particular time of day? This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. Asta
Escitalopram I stopped on July 30. Sleep is sometimes better, sometimes worse. I can't say that they're deteriorating, in the course of the day, just as they are different. The first two weeks I felt pretty bad. The next two weeks were better, some of the symptoms are gone, others become weaker. Now comes one day better, the next worse (maybe worse, some for less sleep). My symptoms: nausea and headache pain in the short term, muscle and bone pain, anxiety weaker (not every day), lack of air (below), mood swings, crying, helplessness (less than it was). Asta
Hi, I really do not know whether this is what I feel this anxiety is an unpleasant feeling in the chest, one at another location. I've never had this feeling before the use of drugs in the past did not have, I think, that's a withdrawal. Really sciery. For a long time this feeling was very low, or no, today is stronger, but not so when only I adjourned the medication. Asta
Hello, today is 8 weeks , when I off escitalopram. May moderators comment my WD? Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted September 22, 2018 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 22, 2018 (edited) Hi Asta, There is no one much in ANY country to consult with on W/D........so you are not alone in that. And that's good that you did not have many symptoms before trying these medications. Have you tried any of the magnesium or fish oil yet? Here are the links on those. The only 2 supplements that we recommend are: Omega 3, fatty acids( fish oil) Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker It's best to just start one new thing at a time however, start low, then keep records as to what you are adding or changing. I've found the magnesium to be calming and the omega's seem to be stabilizing. You'll need to read through the links Asta, and then just try one or the other to see how you tolerate. Lot's of other ideas for non-drug coping are in our symptoms and self care forum. The Dr. Claire Weekes Method of recovering from a sensitized nervous system There is an audio that you can listen too, and youtube as well ^ that is a good/great starting place Relaxation exercises, guided meditations The symptoms will improve Asta and then sometimes they come on back again from time to time. We call this windows and waves pattern of stabilization And feelings and emotions often can feel very enhanced: neuroemotions Fear, terror, panic, and anxietyDealing with emotional spirals Asta, I think that yes, you are dealing with withdrawal symptoms. I left you a lot of links to things that you can look at and then try for developing non-drug coping skills now. The last link has a whole indexed section at the bottom as well. Good job with the drug and symptom logs too! Thank you. Let's try and get you to a good spot with symptoms and coping skills right now. Does that sound okay? You can also look about at others introductions to see how they are coping and offer support and encouragement where you can. When you find things that do help you to cope.......share that too, either here or with others.
