Start from the beginning I was on 10 years Paxil then got pregnant so they switched me to Zoloft for 10 years  I was on 50mg and I hadn’t been taking it consistently for along time I would take it here and there for many years maybe 3 times a week. Well in June I just stopped taking it and I had a few brain zaps that lasted maybe a week or two and went away well 3 months later I started getting anxiety attacks back so I went to my doctor and she told me to start taking Zoloft again 100mg and give it a few weeks to work. Well the second day it started horrible side effects I went back 2 weeks later and she told me to stick it out a few more weeks so I did I stuck it out for 13 weeks and I couldn’t do it anymore. So went back and she told me to come off it and to fast taper within a month so I did. And after a stopped completely in June i didn’t feel better I’ve had withdrawal getting worse as time goes on my question is at 4 months off I feel like I’m in hell cant leave the house with so much anxiety. Tingling legs   Will it get any better as time goes on or am I going to stay like this for years anyone have any good experiences after 4 months

Hi, Willbeathhis.

Welcome to Surviving Antidepressants.

At four months out, you may want to try a very small reinstatement. Here is some information:

About reinstating and stabilizing to reduce withdrawal symptoms

This thread will show you how to get to the lower doses needed for a reinstatement:

Tips for tapering off Zoloft (sertraline)

We don't recommend a lot of supplements, as many members report their nervous systems are simply too fragile to handle them. However, magnesium and fish oil tend to be calming to the nervous system and many people report they do help. Please only add in one supplement at a time and at a small dose. Please add a signature.  Include drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements in the last 12-24 months. Also include supplements. This will help us give you the most accurate advice we can.

  • Any drugs and supplements prior to 24 months ago can just be listed with start and stop years.
  • Please use actual dates or approximate dates (mid-June, Late October) rather than relative time frames (last week, 3 months ago)
  • Spell out months, e.g. "October" or "Oct."; 9/1/2016 can be interpreted as Jan. 9, 2016 or Sept. 1, 2016.
  • Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses.
  • A list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs.

As you provide more information, we can better guide you in selecting a reinstatement dose and provide other information, as well.

Welcome, Willbe.

Has your symptom pattern changed since you went off Zoloft last June? If so, how has it changed? What are your worst symptoms right now, are they worse at any particular time of day?

This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner.
