Tattyapple
Last night I took 0.5mg of lamotrgiene. Maybe this would have happened anyway but I slept just two hrs at the end of the night.. it’s quite possibly coincidence as I do still have nights of zero sleep or waking hourly. Plus the last few days I have been very low and agitated which always means bad sleep. i am so desperate to get some kind of life back. Tattyapple
I have been taking 0.5mg of lamotrgiene for almost 2 weeks. I don’t feel any different and sleep is no better. Do I go up or give up? i have a very important event coming up I would like to attend it’s very important for my daughter. As an emergency do you think it would be ok to take lorazepam for a couple of days before to get sleep.? I haven’t taken a benzo for 4 years and do not intend to take longer but real life happens while all this is going on and trying to hang on to important relationships is hard. I just read through your thread and from what you've written, your nervous system is very destabilized. I would urge caution with taking benzos again, even for a couple of days. With a sensitized nervous system, you are more likely to experience a paradoxical reaction. Also, there's a "moderate" drug interaction between Lamotrigine and lorazepam: Drug Interaction Checker Report Are you still taking Propranolol? Please note that the more sedating drugs you add into the mix, the more likely you'll get a paradoxical reaction - the more you dampen down the nervous system, the more it fights to stay alert. So adding in another sedating drug (lorazepam) may make this more likely. Are you using any supplements? Fish oil and magnesium can be helpful for calming the nervous system. At this point, you may want to try gentle supplements and dietary changes as opposed to adding in a temporary benzo that may cause more problems with your destabilized nervous system. How is your diet? Are you eating enough protein and avoiding sugar and processed foods? Are you able to do gentle yoga and go for a walk each day outdoors in the sunshine? Link to comment
Tattyapple
Thank you Shep I occasionally take zoplicone and it does help me sleep. I take it once or twice a month. The insomnia has never improved in almost 5 years. Any kind of stress such as something I want to do the next day makes it worse, but I have suffered from this kind of anticipatory anxiety since I was 20. I had it all the time I was on Prozac but not as bad and because I normally slept so well and deep that occasional nights without sleep were never a problem, i agree that trying to dampen the system makes it worse as even a tiny dose of mirtazapine I tried left me awake and breathless all night I had severe anxiety before meds and Prozac made life worth living again I think it’s a normal reaction to miss living. iv spent all my savings on therapy and it hasn’t helped. I spoke to dr Shipko and Iv seen Dr Healy. Dr Shipko said what I described was akathesia and dystonia and it can take 7/8 years to go but I know In my heart that’s even if that goes I will still have severe anxiety and that is depressing my diet is pretty good and I try and do a little exercise I take 30 mg of propranolol for palpitations. i will update my sig Effexor 37.5mg 1999-2004 cold turkey. 2004- prozac 20mg untill 2014 then cold turkey.
