Thanks so much Hopefull.  I was reading last night a bit about the The Linden Method recently and realised that his 9 pillars (as he calls them) are pretty well covered on my site with the exception of dealing with your problem alone.  I think that one is a tough one and some support should be used.  Talking it out does seem to help a bit.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

Hey guys, have you found that meditation helps your withdrawal at all?  Today I did 90 minutes of meditation (easy to do when you have a long train ride to and from work) and found it helped me quite a lot.

I'm still feeling a bit bad, but somehow am seeing a little more light now.  I'm going to keep this up every day from now on and see how it goes.

My new GP is absolutely incredible, he knows everything there is to know about mental illness and how it affects one physically.  He immediately picked what I had last year (globus sensation) without a single test ... even though the other doctor had no clue and kept allowing me to see specialists and do tests.  Finding the right doctor is key to getting through anxiety / depression I think, one that REALLY gets it.  Sadly, most seem to have no idea...

The GP I'm seeing now believes strongly in meditation and exercise in particular, along with deep breathing (as I've listed on my website).  He's asked me to focus primarily on those things before seeing any more specialists or doctors.  What a legend he is, God I wish I had him last year :(

Frantic, your doctor sounds amazing. I'm an aussie, also. Where are you? Only if you want to share. I understand if you don't want to say. Just rare to find such a good Doc.  Hope it all goes well.

Many SSRI's and SSNRI's over 20 years. Zoloft for 7 years followed by Effexor, Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Celexa, Pristiq, Valdoxan, Mianserin and more - on and off. No tapering. Cold turkey off Valdoxan - end of May 2014

I'm in Melbourne and would be happy to share his details if you ever need him. You are so right, it seems impossible to find good GPs who arent just glorified drug dealers these days.

All the best, hope you have luck getting off the meds, you can do it!

Thanks Frantic, but I need something closer to home. Thats ok. Just thought you might have been from Brisbane. I haven't checked your website yet, but I will.  Please don't give up. It makes you angry, hurt, bitter, outraged etc. but you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Hey Frantic,

I just came across your thread and was wondering how you're doing.

I am having similar symptoms like you and am hoping that you're well and recovered by now.

Cheers, Laura

Feb 2015 Took venlafaxine for 5 days only... experienced withdrawal that made me completely non-functional

Mar 2015 took under 1mg of Sertraline for 10 days in an attempt to combat Venlafaxine withdrawal. Got adverse reactions.

After stopping Sertraline, withdrawal got much worse. New, horrific symptoms.

June 2015 Still non-functional but slowly getting better. Still brain zaps, migraines, sweating, heart racing, depression, crying spells

September 2015: 24/7 brain zaps, twitches in the face, no concentration, bad memory, language skills deteriorating.

Hi Frantic,

How are you doing now?

DRUG HISTORY:

November 2013- Zoloft, ( Bad reaction).

January 2014 - March 2014 Seroquel.( Quit Cold Turkey).

January2014- Mirtazapine, I was taking 15mg at one stage, reduced to 7.5mg, Pgad reactions to Mirtazapine. Doctor kept increasing it to 37.5mg, until July 2014. No improvement, experiencing panic attacks, on 37.5 mg. I had enough by October 2014. Began tapering.

October 2014- Started tapering Mirtazapine from 37.5mg.

September 2015- Down to 4mg of Mirtazapine. Crashed.

September 16th- Up dosed to 5mg. Held this dose for almost 5 months. Stabilised.

February 2016- Began tapering again. From 5mg to 4.5mg of Mirtazapine. (Rocking the boat, again)! Lol. :(

Dear folks, I realise some people stumble across this post from time to time and drop me a message.

I just wanted to let you all that I completely recovered from my experience and you will too if you're going through something similar.  I suggest tapering off the drug and then focusing on good sleep, exercise, time with family and friends, meditation and any other hobbies that make you happy.  Hobbies like painting, drawing, playing an instrument, playing sports etc.

Our bodies are truly so much stronger than any of these drugs and it is possible to make a full recovery.

Just an FYI; I haven't been visiting these forums much and won't be at all from this point forward so please be aware that I won't see any further private messages or replies to this thread.  I thought I'd share my update here for anyone to see instead in case they come across this thread in the future.

Huge love and all the best to you

Please write a success story before you go?  The adverse reaction people have so few success stories to keep them hopeful.  Thanks - Rosetta
