Rooker Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Now I know why people with addictions have it so hard giving up their drug! If I feel this awful going off my anti depressants, I can't imagine going off a real addiction cold turkey. What is it that they give the addicts to help them with their withdrawal symptoms? Would it help me? Should I ask my doctors? It's frustrating when it's a beautiful day in Florida, we come a lot in the cold months, and i am only able to do so much because I am so dizzy, weak naucus. At first I thought I was just imagining these symptoms. I told myself I am fine. Right! This is real and I want it to stop. I need to be able to enjoy my life, not lay around feeling awful. What do you suggest, anything? Just wait and hope for the best? Cold turkey, I really thought I stopped taking them slow enough, but obviously not. I should have gotten educated first about this. The Cymbalta had me sweating like I never did before even in menopause! I had enough of trying to.have the side effects go away. I am just rambling. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks, Rooker

Was it Cymbalta? What was your taper? This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. Crocus Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Hi Rooker; Sorry you are feeling so bad but yes, I hope you will give us a tad more info. There are a number of things you can do to feel better. As far as I have been able to tell the withdrawal from AD's is easily as bad as any drug, but even worse since the drugs have been designed to chemically alter our brains. I hope you write again. alexjuice Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Hi rooker, Welcome to the forum. I can't say how long, that depends on a lot of things. But it's important to know that it doesn't last forever... Shanti Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Hi Rooker. Nice to meet you! I wish I had an answer for you about how long, but who knows. Everyone is different. Fish Oil helps repair the brain faster I believe. I hope you feel better soon. Welcome to the forum. Taper from Cymbalta, Paxil, Prozac & Antipsychotics finished June 2012.
