Moderator Emeritus scallywag Posted December 22, 2016 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted December 22, 2016 asl -- Welcome to Surviving Antidepressants (SA) Dizziness is a symptom of withdrawal. I have had only moments of dizziness and am sorry that you've been dealing with it for such a long time. You may find others who have had this for a long time in the discussion topics at these links: Dizziness, vertigo, lightheadedness, etc. What to do for dizziness, queasiness, nausea . What is your current dose of Prozac? How long have you been at that dose? How long have you been taking prozac altogether? It will help us help you if you create a signature that shows your medication and withdrawal history. A request: Would you summarize your history in a signature -- drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-18 months particularly? Please use actual dates or approximate dates (mid-June, Late October) rather than relative time frames (last week, 3 months ago) Any drugs prior to 18 months ago can just be listed with start and stop years. You don't need to include symptoms or diagnoses other than the initial condition that led to prescribing the first drug. We ask for this information in your signature so that we can see it at a glance. A list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs. You can find instructions in this topic: Please put your withdrawal history in signature If you are using a phone or mobile device, you need to switch to the "full" or desktop version of the site. Instructions are in Post 8 and Post 9 I hope you'll find the information in the SA forums helpful for your situation. I'm sorry that you are in the position that you need the information, but am glad that you found us. This is not medical advice. hopeful7
Hello asl. I had dizziness in the early part of my withdrawal so have some idea of what you are talking about. It is unpleasant and disconcerting isn't it so sending you warm thoughts and positivity okay. If you can try and take regular time out to rest. What helped me enormously was regular periods of just hanging out in bed for the day. I'd read or maybe watch documentaries on YouTube. I'd dose off for a bit then wake up and do a bit more reading or whatever. Why this helped me was l was keeping physical activity to a minimum and reducing external stimuli. By giving this to myself l was allowung my body to do the healing with minimal external stress. My brain would be comfortably engaged in the reading or video watching so it wouldn't be stressing about the withdrawal and would naturally take its breaks and l would fall asleep. I gave my body the best conditions l could to allow for the healing process. I'm 24 days into my withdrawal. I am needing less restful times and my withdrawal symptoms are now mainly about fluctuating energy levels. Mentally l'm good but l still sense tenderness so l listen to that and take myself off to bed when l need to. I realise that if you're working full-time or have family dependant on you then it can be difficult to find the space for resting. I hope you can find this space though, even if it's just for half an hour here or there, it'll still be a valuable experience for your brain and body. Best wishes to you hopeful Quit quitiapine on 2nd December 2016. Dosage 150mg.Been on it since April/May 2015.Take 30mg of amytriptaline as a neuropathic.
