Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted September 3, 2017 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 3, 2017 Hi robert and welcome to SA. You've come to the right place. We have lots of excellent information on this site. I will add a tag to your topic so you can click on it and find other members who have the same drug in their tags. It will be at the top left below the topic title. We ask all members to provide their drug history as a signature. This way we can see your details at a glance. Please remember to update whenever you make a change so it remains current. Thank you. A request: Would you summarize your history in a signature - ALL drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-24 months particularly? Please leave out symptoms and diagnoses. A list is easier to understand than one or multiple paragraphs. Any drugs prior to 24 months ago can just be listed with start and stop years. Please use actual dates or approximate dates (mid-June, Late October) rather than relative time frames (last week, 3 months ago) Spell out months, e.g. "October" or "Oct."; 9/1/2016 can be interpreted as Jan. 9, 2016 or Sept. 1, 2016. SA recommends tapering by no more than 10% of your previous dose followed by a hold of about 4 weeks to allow the brain to adapt to not getting as much of the drug. Hopefull
Hi Robert57, I have been coming off Mirtazapine for the last 3 years. The easiest way to do it is to get a prescription for Avanza SolTab 15mg. It is a water soluble tablet. Put 15mls of water into a medicine cup. Dissolve 15mg tablet into the water. Stir really well and quickly draw out with the syrange the amount that you need. I discard the rest. My GP has told me you can store the rest in the fridge. I don't, because I am super sensitive and I don't know if the potency remains the same if kept in the fridge. This has been the easiest way for me to get off Mirtazapine. Good luck with it all, Hopefull. DRUG HISTORY: November 2013- Zoloft, ( Bad reaction). January 2014 - March 2014 Seroquel.( Quit Cold Turkey). January2014- Mirtazapine, I was taking 15mg at one stage, reduced to 7.5mg, Pgad reactions to Mirtazapine. Doctor kept increasing it to 37.5mg, until July 2014. No improvement, experiencing panic attacks, on 37.5 mg. I had enough by October 2014. Began tapering. October 2014- Started tapering Mirtazapine from 37.5mg. September 2015- Down to 4mg of Mirtazapine. Crashed. September 16th- Up dosed to 5mg. Held this dose for almost 5 months. Stabilised. February 2016- Began tapering again. From 5mg to 4.5mg of Mirtazapine. (Rocking the boat, again)! Lol. Link to comment
robert57
I'm doing a liquid taper of mirtazapine. A compounding pharmacy did it at 11.25mgs = 1ml, so I extract 1ml and drink that. Does that sound right? It is concentrated so I shake it good. 11.25mgs was where I was at when I switched off the pills. Thanks. remeron at 11.25 trying a liquid taper lorazepam 2mg temazepam 15mg Link to comment
