Nervous1
I have continued to taper the paxil even slower than I listed. I am now at 4.6mg(2.3mls with oral suspension) I reduced to this amount from 4.8mgs, which I had held at for 4 weeks. (This past Wed)6 days after this last reduction, I had an event occur that I wonder if is related to tapering. I was laying in bed early morning and felt a bit nauseous. (I’ve been quite used to this feeling in mornings) I got up to go the the restroom and, when I looked down at myself, I noticed I had….how do I say this gently? Pooped myself. This has never happened in my life, where I felt no warning that I needed to go. I went to clean myself up and the next thing I remember is opening my eyes on the floor and being confused what’s I was. There is no memory of the between. I had bruising on 5 areas of my face and head and has a headache and dizziness the rest of the day. Due to ongoing stress in the home and my agoraphobia, I didn’t get checked out, but, when I started to feel nauseous and dizzy again on Sunday, I called 911. I was told it could have been a seizure, but, because I waited so long to be seen, there’s no way to know. I had an MRI with contrast and was cleared of stroke possibility. I was given 1mg Ativan to get thru the MRI because I was so terrified of it. I’m at a loss as to what could have happened. I’m also very vigilant in keeping hydrated with electrolytes, so I don’t think it was dehydration. Any thoughts? 2015-18 reduced Paxil from 20-5mg (very Slow, 1mg every 4-6 weeks 6am- Paxil oral suspension 5mgs Xanax 2mgs Probiotic, fish oil, multi vitamin 7am- colestid (bile acid sequestrant given after gallbladder removal) 10am- 1mg xanax 2pm- 1mg xanax 9pm or before bed- colestid Link to comment
Moderator FireflyFyte Posted December 12, 2023 Moderator Share Posted December 12, 2023 I moved your post to your introductory thread where we ask that you keep all of your questions/updates. Regarding a possible seizure, I would recommend talking to your doctor about additional testing as it can be a serious medical condition. While tapering certain medications can raise the risk of seizures, it is best to work with a doctor to determine if you did in fact suffer a seizure and, if applicable, determine the cause. Nervous1
Thank you. I’ve had trouble navigating this forum perhaps because I use it on an iPhone? I did go to the hospital, but, should have gone sooner, as they’d have been able to detect it within 24 to 48 hours. Will not make that mistake again. I never connected it to the taper. 2015-18 reduced Paxil from 20-5mg (very Slow, 1mg every 4-6 weeks 6am- Paxil oral suspension 5mgs Xanax 2mgs Probiotic, fish oil, multi vitamin 7am- colestid (bile acid sequestrant given after gallbladder removal) 10am- 1mg xanax 2pm- 1mg xanax 9pm or before bed- colestid Link to comment
