puthappinessfirst
Update: It's been a while since I've dropped, didn't actually realize how long it's been, but I've been saying for a while that it's more important to me to be functional than not in this whole process. Last week I dropped 10% and am now sitting at 7.2mg. Within the first few days I had some dips in mood... existential doom/dread and depression. Luckily these bouts didn't last very long, although it's never feels good to revisit that kind of chemical low. The past few days I've been very itchy but I'm not surprised as I know SSRIs have antihistamine properties. One night my chest got really red and itchy and every time I itched my chest with my fingernails, it would raise long, red, raised welts. My eyes have been incredibly itchy and gloopy in the evenings as well. Generally I feel kind of itchy all over. Luckily I've also been able to power through this and have been using tea and ointments to calm my body/skin down. I'm thinking the itchiness will pass on a few more days. That's all for now, will update if anything else comes up! I've found old fashioned calamine lotion very good for calming my itchiness that I get occasionally. It's that sort of itch that when you scratch it, it makes it even itchier. I think I've nailed it down to when I eat 1 Roma / egg tomatoes for about 3 days in a row. I seem to be alright with regular tomatoes. So I think the egg tomatoes might be higher in histamine. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment

puthappinessfirst
Hi @Carmie Haven't been having any major issues lately, thankfully. Headaches and migraines have been happening a bit more often again recently, but I'm thinking that's more hormonal than anything. Still tapering away. I haven't updated my signature lately, but I'm at about 6.4mg if I am remembering correctly. I am thinking of dropping again soon, as my last drop was a month or so ago. Time is really fuzzy for me... I can't remember if it was a month or two ago 😅 What's most important is that I am still functioning without crazy waves. I know I will get off the Celexa, but I feel impatient at times. I know we all feel that way... where we wanna say "f*ck it" and discontinue the rest. I recently started seeing a personal trainer. I go 6x a month and am really feeling excited by that. The first few sessions, it really threw me into a wave. It was so much on my CNS, it really was unnerving. But I kept at it and now I seem to be fine. It was scary in the beginning though. I was thinking, "Great, I can't even get a hard work out in to feel better about myself..." I hope you're doing a bit better. My thoughts are with you. Thank you for checking in ❤ 1 Celexa 10mg: 2007 to June 2018, stopped CT No meds: June 2018 to December 2018 PROTRACTED WD-- major depressive episode for 2+ weeks Lexapro 10mg: December 12, 2018 to January 19, 2019, severe adverse reaction Celexa 10mg: January 20, 2019 June 24, 2019: 9mg July 22, 2019: 8.5mg Jan 8, 2020: 8mg Aug 25, 2020: 7.2mg Supplements: Magnesium, Fish Oil Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus Carmie Posted July 26, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 26, 2021 I’m so happy you’re doing so well Happiness, and you’re not getting those crazy waves. I get waves no matter how slow I go. It’s good that you’re able to tolerate your exercise now. It’s great to find things that make you happy and brighten your day. I’m like you when it comes to times, can’t remember what I did when😂 Hope the rest of your tapering is smooth sailing🤗 Seroquel. 2019:➡️ From 7.25mg to 5.80mg✔️ 2020➡️From 5.60 to 4.80✔️ 2021➡️From 4.60 to 4.0✔️ 2022➡️From 3.95 to 3.55✔️2023➡️ Jan 26=3.50✔️March 17=3.45✔️ June12=3.40✔️ July30=3.35✔️ Sep14=3.30✔️ Oct31=3.25✔️ 2024➡️Jan15=3.20✔️ Feb19=3.15✔️ March26=3.10✔️This is NOT medical advice.Consult your doctor.
