Cogentin. 2016- began slow taper of Lamictal 100mg, taper of Cogentin 10mg. taper of Abilify 5mg. 2019- 37.5mg of Lamictal. 0 of Cogentin, 4mg of Abilify. 2020- abrupt stop began Risperidone .5mg, Rexulti 1mg, Propranolol 10mg 2021 November began taper of Risperidone .5mg to .4375mgs,December-tapered of Risperidone .4375mgs to .375mgs 2022 January- tapered of Risperidone .375mgs to .3125mgs, February 20 -tapered Risperidone from .3125mgs to .25mgs, March 27- began transitioning for a month risperadone.25mgs tablets to liquid .25ml. I also am taking a temporary medication for a couple months for something needing my attention but it's only temporary and will not be a lasting thing. I'm grateful to be finished with propranolol. I've been sunbathing pretty consistently recently to get vitamin D so that I can come off of my vitamin D pill. things are progressing in the right direction and I am very grateful to be making progress on this journey with coming off of my medication safely. I still have rexulti and risperidone left to come off of, but right now I'm just taking it one month at a time and one step at a time and moving forward slowly but surely. I'm grateful my doctors are working with me on this journey so that I don't have to go against their medical advice. commitmenttohope Posted October 31, 2023 Author Share Posted October 31, 2023 Dear Surviving Antidepressants, I'm checking in with you after completing the temporary antifungal medication i was taking after benefitting from it's use for 6 weeks. I thought I would have to take it for 3 months but after 6 weeks I was having pretty severe side effects and when I spoke to the pharmacist about my reaction she checked and found out that the anti fungal medication was a contradiction to the psychiatric medication I am taking. when I told my doctor he had me stop taking the antifungal medication and the side effects went away gratefully. he said 6 weeks was enough for me to benefit from it completely. so now, I'm back here to continue my tapering journey with the anti psychotics that I am on. today I am beginning the next step in my tapering and reducing of my .o7ml of risperidone. it is in liquid form and i'm on such a low dose now that i barely pull any liquid into the syringe as it is, so I'm going to go down to the bare minimum this step. i'm not exactly sure what other people do when they get down to the smallest dose possible, but that is where i'm at. I will wait and work with my doctor. I didn't feel okay with my conscience and my parents were worried about me. I will move forward working together with my doctor and my parents. I will taper down on it starting tomorrow. I don't want to go back on the risperidone, and I'm hoping that this is only part of the withdrawals. I'm still on 1 mg of rexulti and seem to be doing okay with everything else in my life. I don't think hearing voices is normal, but i'm just hoping it will clear after my mind balances out from coming off the risperidone. I was on an extremely low dose .05ml of risperidone so I wasn't actually able to reduce the dose any further without just coming off of it and plus, i'm still on the other medication to help keep me stable. the voices are taking my focus while i'm alone but seem to silence when i'm around people. I had a really nice day with my family yesterday. just noticed that the voices are in my alone time and I'm alone quit a bit. most all friendly and kind voices. do you have any suggestions for me? with appreciation, commitmenttohope 2004 -started medication and was put on many different kinds with many changes.
