vetdoc
So it looks I was prescribed too high dose for my needs again! I started this around 3 years ago for a migraine prevention... Ikam I don't know how it is dosed to prevent migraines. I am referring only when prescribed by a Pdoc as a sleep med to their patients. Many Pdocs are ignorant or don't believe that 3-6 mgs of Doxepin can work for sleep! Unfortunately patients who are prescribed this med for sleep are way overdosed. polyharmacy cocktail FEB 2012 after hospital release , Wellbutrin 300mg xl once day, Lamictal 200mg daily, Klonopin 2mg Doxepin 7mg Klonopin micro taper started Dec 2012, C/O to 20mg Valium 12/2013, down to 1.5mg as of 10/01/2014, updose to 1.6mg valium Oct 10/2014, updosed 2mg valium December 18 2014 Wellbutrin taper from 300mg, started Jan 2015, Wellbutrin 275mg, Jan 24 2015, wellbutrin 250 mg, Feb 25,2015 225mg wellbutrin June 5, 200mg,July 2015, updosed 225mg, September 2015, 206mg, October, 2015 187.5mg, November updosed to 200mg May 2015, wellbutri167mg Currently Wellbutrin 187mg, Lamictal 200mg, Valium 2mg, Doxepin 5.4mg July 09/
ikam
Some time ago I was convinced that I did not need as high doses, I used to respond to the tiny doses...The doctors "made me" to believe that they are right, so I agreed to the doses prescribed by them... I will not decrease Doxepin yet, but I think this dose is too high... - 12.03.2021- doxepin- 50mg - 6.11.2020- 75mg - 16.10.2020- 100mg - 30.09.2020- doxepin- 125mg - May 2020, omeprazole 40mg switched to esomeprazole 20mg - 2012 re-started Doxepin 75mg, evening. ikam
I used to be on and off it for many years, also on amitriptyline, also an anafranil... Some time ago nobody was talking about WD, so doctors were just stopping them... I was convinced that I was relapsing into depression, so I was back on AD... Until now, I have taken a conscious decision, but I am unsure how will I manage...I have been on meds since 1983... - 12.03.2021- doxepin- 50mg - 6.11.2020- 75mg - 16.10.2020- 100mg - 30.09.2020- doxepin- 125mg - May 2020, omeprazole 40mg switched to esomeprazole 20mg - 2012 re-started Doxepin 75mg, evening. pug
Hello, I have been prescribed trazodone at 25-50 mg for sleep on a prn basis. I tried 25mg and it did help me sleep through the night, only waking up a couple of times. My question is, how dangerous is this if I only use it as needed, and limit it to 1-2 times a week maximum and hopefully less? I don't want to take anything but without some sleep my job is in jeopardy until I start seeing some improvement from this nasty wave I am currently in. I have been off of SSRI for 8 months now and I take no other medications; I did take 1 .125 Xanax tablet about 8 times over the last year. Thank you for the help! 20+ years of Zoloft 50-100 mg CT 03/2014 for 5 months Back on Prozac 20 mg for 4 months CT since 11/2014 Found this forum the last day of 2014 The secret is to keep going! Time will heal.

Terry4949
I have been taking mirtazapine for a year now was on 30mg now down to 15mg and I hate the dam stuff , it has never done anything for me other than make me sleep , the thing is when I take it normally about 7.30 in the evening it does not knock me out like it used to but when I go to bed usually about 9.30 more or less go straight to sleep ,but so deep is the sleep that I wake at 4.00am usually around that time, I feel like I have been a sleep for 5 minutes , I never had any trouble with my sleep prior to mirtazapine but this sleep feels so wrong a induced sleep so deep nothing like natural sleep ,nearly most mornings I awake with a shock like start , I wonder if this is good for my brain and that when I am in this sort of coma it is not allowing my brain to heal it self , has anyone else had this sort of experience using Mirt , and do you think it is allowing me to heal wilst sleeping , it just feels that I am not getting the natural sleep that I should be getting 2001 to jan 2015 Effexor 150 mg jan 2015 15 mg mirtazapine 20 mg quetiapine feb 2015 quetiapine stopped feb 2015 30 mg of citalopram added feb 2015 mirtazapine increased to 30 mg july 2015 citalopram stopped sept 2015 200mg of pregabalin jan 2017 mirtazapine stopped jan 2017 20 mg fluoxetine march 2017 all meds stopped
Administrator Altostrata Posted August 28, 2016 Administrator Share Posted August 28, 2016 Don't worry about the quality of your sleep, it's better than no sleep. There's no way out but through, usually a taper, when it comes to psychiatric drugs. If you're tapering mirtazapine and Lyrica at the same time, that could be causing you problems.
