Welcome to SA, Adal..

To give members the best information, we ask them to summarize their medication history in a signature -- drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-24 months particularly.

Account Settings – Create or Edit a signature.

The following link gives information on getting small doses, including making a liquid from your tablets and using a digital scale to measure.

Tips for tapering off vortioxetine (Trintellix, previously called Brintellix)

The digital scale many members use in the Gemini-20, available from Amazon.com, but I don't know if this is available in Saudi Arabia.  If not, you could try to buy a jeweler's scale where you live and use that.  You'd cut the pill into quarters, then shave little pieces off or add little shaved pieces until you have 4 equal parts.

You might be better off making the liquid, as described in the link above.

This is your Introduction topic, where you can ask complete your drug signature, ask questions and connect with other members.  We're glad you found your way here.

Thank you Gridley,

just now finished my signature writing.

Is this forum based on doctors? Because I noticed a common thing here, which is that side effects last for years, while doctors completely reject that, and confirm that side effects last for weeks. Are there scientific studies that explain this? Thank you for this forum and I ask God to heal us and you all.

Side effects are the unwanted symptoms or bad effects that we get when we take a drug.

Withdrawal effects are what we experience when we reduce the drug too quickly or stop it abruptly.

Are there scientific studies about withdrawal effects?

Hello,

Are there scientific studies indicating that the withdrawal effects of psychiatric medications last for years? Because doctors assure that it only lasts for weeks.

I stop drugs before 1 year ago, but last months i return to 1 stelazine (i am thinking to take brintellix) i toke it 6 days 0.5 ml but side effects return and leave it. after 1 month i return again about 6 days and stop. now i take stelazine 1 and plan to stop it after 1 month.

My most disturbing Effects are: low mood, anxiety and a lot of thinking before making simple decisions, exaggeration of matters, problems with those around me, I feel hate, internal tension and anger. How do I deal with these symptom?

I am thinking of taking Brintellix 1ml but I am trying to overcome it without drugs.

After taking a psychiatric drug for one month, you are in danger of withdrawal symptoms.  After one month on a psychiatric drug, you should taper off at a rate of no faster than 10% of current dose every 4 weeks.

Why taper by 10% of my dosage?

There's no way I can say for sure.  I don't know the effect of the drug on your brain.  Our general advice is that if you've been on a psychiatric drug for a month, there is a danger of withdrawal.  It is  not certain but there is the possibility.  It is your decision.

But I think the withdrawal effects after using a small dose are less than the effects after a large dose (if it is of the same drug) right?

It's always 10% of current dose.  If it were of original dose the taper would go too fast, especially as you got lower and lower in dosage.,

We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system.

Add in one at a time and at a low dose in case you do experience problems. Get supplements that are single ingredient (not mixed with other types of supplements).

Regarding other supplements and herbs, Google SurvivingAntidepressants.org name of supplement and you'll probably find a topic on the supplement along with other members' experiences with them.  When starting a supplement, add in a supplement one at a time (otherwise, if there's a problem, you won't know the cause) and at a low dose.  We don't recommend multivitamins or supplement combinations for the same reason that if there's a problem, you won't know which ingredient is causing it.

If the effect is positive, it depends on the supplement.  I t could take some time.  If the effect is negative, you will feel it very soon, within a day or even a few hours.  If the effect is negative, stop taking the supplement.

Levels of omega-3's build up quickly in the body once you take supplements. But it may take 6 weeks to 6 months to see a significant change in mood, pain, or other symptoms.
