Moderator DataGuy Posted November 28, 2021 Moderator Share Posted November 28, 2021 Yes, I think you should just be patient for now, @ilym. Are you still taking 7.5mg? You may want to stop drinking coffee. That may help a bit. Remeron - 2004-2005 (bad withdrawal) Clonazepam - 2005-2018 (jumped around March) Olanzapine - 2014- late 2017 Domperidone - 2008-2018 Many drugs in between including Lexapro, other benzos and z-drugs. Still suffering post-withdrawal from Clonazepam (Klonopin), Olanzapine and Domperidone. Link to comment

Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted December 13, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted December 13, 2021 When we take a psychiatric drug the brain adapts to getting the drug. When the drug is taken away too quickly we can experience withdrawal symptoms because the brain is trying to regain homeostasis, or balance things out. That is why slow tapering is recommended. Reducing by a small amount and then holding on that dose allows the brain to adapt to not getting as much of the drug and usually withdrawal symptoms are only mild or sometimes none at all. Even though a keto diet might be good for you for other reasons, it is not going to stop withdrawal symptoms. If trying anything new it is a good idea to do a gradual transition. And you only make one change at a time. As an example, I recently changed to a low carb diet (diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol) but I didn't start doing it all in one go. First I stopped eating sugar, sweets and biscuits and then I stopped eating processed food and so on. Also, even though I was due to end my taper, I decided that it was better to stay on the same dose until I had transitioned to my new way of eating. That was if I wasn't feel very well I knew it was because of the diet and not because I had taken my lost dose of antidepressant. 1 * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment

Some say that using animal fats is better than using seed oils for cooking. I had my blood tests done mid October, changed my diet, and will get more blood tests done mid January. That's when I will find out if the low carb, higher fat (I don't like too much fat) is helping with my high blood glucose levels and my high cholesterol. I have been primarily researching reversing Type 2 diabetes caused insulin resistance, but from what I am learning it would seem that cutting out the carbs might improve the cholesterol as well. There are different "parts" to cholesterol. Triglycerides, HDL (high density lipoproteins), LDL (low density lipoproteins, and there are 2 types of LDLs, large/light & fluffy, which I've heard are good, and small/dense , which I have heard are bad) and I've heard them mention VLDL (very low density lipoproteins) but I don't really understand what they are. Before you change your diet please do your own research. What is (hopefully) working for me, might not necessarily work for you.
