LordSuarez
Hi everyone, my name is Suarez, I used escitalopram 10 mg for 4 months, I stopped using it about 12 months ago, since then I have been facing difficulties with withdrawal symptoms such as anhedonia, chronic fatigue, brain zaps and some sexual dysfunction. I was progressing well until I started using rhodiola 3 months ago, since then I have felt a general worsening of my symptoms, is it possible for me to recover in this case? at least to my pre-rhodiola state? I didn't know something like that could do so much damage, feels like i've destroid my progresse. I stopped the escitalopram tampering for a month, but the rhodiola I stopped cold turkey, I wonder if it's worth reintroducing to stop little by little? I'm also not sure if my worsening was due to rhodiola or recent stress Thanks for reading and apologies for my english, i'm not native Edited December 29, 2021 by ChessieCat reformatted translated text Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted December 29, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted December 29, 2021 Hello LordSuarez and welcome to SA, How long ago did you take the rhodiola? SA's founder, Altostrata, cold turkeyed Paxil. She tried Rhodiola and had a bad reaction to it. Altostrata has completely recovered. On 5/7/2012 at 7:13 AM, Altostrata said: Rosie, rhodiola can be activating, particularly at low doses. I had a terrible reaction to it. Naturopaths don't know any more than doctors about how to deal with ADs or withdrawal. Please stop taking preparations that are supposed to fix you. And this is her response to a member asking how it affected her: On 5/8/2012 at 2:07 AM, Altostrata said: Terrible anxiety surges and blood pressure spikes, Rosie. Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted December 29, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted December 29, 2021 That is not very long ago. When people have a bad reaction to something it takes times for your body to recover from it. We do not know how long it will be. You will probably notice gradual improvement over the next few months. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment

You have just had a set back. This sometimes happens to members who drink alcohol. It happens to some members who need to take an antibiotic or a steroid tablet or cream for other for medical issues. You will need to be patient and not try to fix your escitalopram withdrawal by taking things that might or might not help. You have already learned that some things came make it worse.
