Daranco: Stomach issues

Hello!  I am 69 years old and have been trying to taper down from a 75 mm dose of doxepin.  I have been on it since March 2021.  Prior to anxiety issues then I had been on 50 mg Zoloft (still am) and 25 mg of doxepin for over 25 years.  I was in the hospital from 2/1 2022 until 2/4 for critically low sodium caused by months of psyllium use and drinking too much water and Miralax use.  My psychiatrist is out of town until Friday 2/18.  I only have 25 mg tablets. I went down to 50 mgs Sat. Feb. 5 until now. I have switched to sporadic ducolax or stool softener.  I wonder if the tapering is too much as I have terrible withdrawal symptoms, lack of sleep, nausea, etc.  I have not tried senna. Do you have any suggestions?  Thank you!

Dear @Daranco, welcome to SA.

Can you please help us understand your drug history by filling your drug signature following the instructions here:

How to List Drug History in Signature - Introductions and updates - Surviving Antidepressants

When you tell us your tapering history with exact dates if possible for the last couple of months we can try to help you better.

We recommend not tapering by more than 10% a month in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

It might be useful for you to increase your dosage but by how much will depend on when you lowered your dose which we can see from the drug signature.
