Hila1: Quitting Amisulpride and insomnia withdrawal

Hello,
I was on amisulpride (anti psychotic) for 7 years and
I stopped to take it 3 months ago. After a month I started to have severe insomnia and also and i cant sleep at all. I dont know what to do.

In the past I was also on prozac but quitted it couple of years ago.
Please help me.

Hi. Thank u. Sorry . My english not good. I quitt not tapppering good. About 1.5 month i cut the pill so he was very small. I going crazy. Crying. Ifeel going to die. No sleeping at all!! I got no body . No family or friend. No support😔 alone. I dont know how long it take me without sleeping. Im not functionnig at all. Thers a pill to support ? Pls help🙏🙏⚘

Hey Hila!  I'm sorry to hear you're in a bad shape right now, but you come to the forum! so things will get better.

what was your last dose of Solian ?

 

I'm on it for 5.5 years and tapering slowly to avoid acute withdrawal symptoms such as sleep deprivation and stuff like that.

I had the same reactions as you do..  4 years ago I stopped at once, because the psych told me I'm on a low dose (200mg) and I could just quit it all together without any problems..

after 7 months I had to take it again.

 

I would consider Altostrata's great advice and take it again. stabilse, then go down slowly.

this way you'll have less symptoms. if you'll go slow with the taper-  you will sleep properly at the process!

 

today I'm doing the reductions more slow that I would want, but at least I'm sleeping and reducing each month 10% of the last month's dose

Thank you. Why cant i take ssri ? Why to return ami?  I don want to take them at all. Also Now i suffer perkingson because the amisulpride. Its a bad pill. Idont know how much i will suffer insomnia. I understant what you write to me. God will help me😔

What do you mean, you suffer Parkinson's?

 

You appear to have withdrawal syndrome from amulsipride, it doesn't make any sense to substitute an SSRI, that's a very different drug.

Hila - just take the amisulpride for now so you won't get worst and be found in a psych ward.

you told me in private that you took 100mg, that's 1 pill. try a quarter or half a pill and get stable.

then reduce, by little, each month. sleep is guaranteed if you find your pace quick enough and reduce amisulprde slow enough.

Thak you altostrata. I trying to learn how to use this site. I hope i sucsess to write in the right place.  I didnt tappering very slow. Just cutting the pill to small dose over 1.5 month. I took somtime 1/2 pill. The insomnia killing me. I dont want to return to the pill. He destroy my life. I want just to sleep. Iread people struggling with bad insomnia. I need to ear that i will get sleeping again. I dont know how long it will stay. Maybe somthing in my brain is damage? I dont find posts of quitting amisulpride. I affride that it imposible. - Did you get any odd symptoms while taking amulsipride?

- When did these symptoms start?

- Do you still have odd movements? What are those movements? How often do they occur?

Yes. I have very bad insomnia.

My story began with ssri. And few years ago (6 almost)  the "doc" give me low dose amisulpride  with ssri for "depression". I never was deprresive. I past trauma of fail operation. I cry but im ok now. Im realy ok but the crule insomnia make me more than sad. Very tierd. Cant do nothing. I quitt job because i cant function. Hope u understand me. Thank u🙏
