NoMoreDrugs: morning sickness on Clonazapam

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I am down to 1mg of Clonazapam .5 twice a day. I take .5 at 10:00pm and .5 at 6:00am.  I now wake up ever morning in terror. Dizziness. Anxiety. I just lay there for hours praying it will subside. I tapered off Clonazapam years ago and had the same thing happen until I was finally off. I have been tested for high cortisol and it was borderline high. The dr. Gave me meds to lower cortisol did not really help.  I have kids and I am basically non functional until the afternoon. Any suggestions?  Should I cross over to Valium?  All input appreciated.

10/20. Prescribed Ativan 2mg

2/22.  Hit tolerance prescribed 2 mg Clonazapam

7/10.  Taper to 1mg Clonazapam

Welcome to SA. We are a volunteer ran site helping members taper off psychiatric medications or have tapered off and are now healing.

This is your introduction page where you will receive information, ask questions and meet other members. We ask that you only have one introduction page so we can keep all your information in one place.

Did you cut your dosage of Clonazapam in 1/2 on 7/10? If not, how much did you taper and when did your start your taper? Can you please update your signature to reflect this if you did not cut your dosage in 1/2.

How to List Drug History in Signature

If you did indeed cut your dosage in 1/2, it was much too quickly. We do not suggest more than 10% a month, and some go much slower than that. Here are some links that you might find helpful.
