hi @Viinncceennt

sorry you are going thru a rough time

do you like to read?

you might get some tips from this book

Hardwiring Happiness: The New Brain Science of Contentment, Calm, and Confidence

You can get a second hand copy for under $10 and there's a good chance the local library may have it

I don't know if you can get it in French, are you able to read english or are you using a translator?

I think more people are pessimistic by nature than not, and even if I'm wrong, we all have a tendency to notice the negative over the positive (that book explains why)

but there are ways to overcome this tendency

you are obviously very smart, I think you'd enjoy this book or others like it, if you're able to get a copy

I hope things improve for you very soon!

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME PRIVATE MESSAGES, thank you.

It's hard to know what to do for sure in your situation, but if you had no increase in symptoms from the diazepam reductions you made and you don't feel like it's helping, you might want to try another reduction in January. It's possible that you haven't developed dependence yet, in which case, you might want to get off the diazepam to prevent this. I should mention that it can be more difficult to reduce at the lower doses, but perhaps a 25% reduction would be doable.

2003-2009 on and off various SSRI's for short periods, Ativan prn

2010-2011 Ativan, up to 1.5mg/day - tapered off without issue

2013-2021 ativan 1-1.5mg 10-12x/month, daily starting Oct 21 to help with buspar WD

2016 - Effexor 75mg, short-term

2021 Mar -Jun Buspar ADR at high dose, tapered 3 months

2021 Aug Wellbutrin 150mg for 5 days (ADR), then MIrtazapine 7.5mg for 7 days (ADR)

Oct 22/21 - Direct switch ativan to clonazepam (don't do this)

Tapered clonaz Oct/21 - Apr/23  - 0mg!

Supplements: omega-3, mag-glycinate

The reduction I was talking about was a total reduction : I'm at 0 diazepam now.

I have updated it but maybe it's not clear enough ?

Well, you could help me with the Lexapro tapering but I think I know the answer already since I'm doing fairly poorly, it would be badly advised to taper right now.

Anyway I'll reach out if necessary.

Thanks for your time and your help @LotusRising

Just something to indicate that you're at 0mg diazepam would be helpful. No changes since dropping the diazepam?

And you're still taking the alimemazine?

Yes, I would continue to hold until you're more stable.

Ok, great! Just start and stop dates are helpful. So, just to be clear, you're not taking anything for sleep? You used the alimemazine initially to replace the imovane and ambien?

Hello @Catina7. It's very sweet of you. Sadly, I'm doing really bad. My akathisia is unbearable : I have full terror all the time, muscle spasms, restlessness. My PSSD symptoms are unbearable as well : total anhedonia, total lack of will, motivation... I look in terror at tomorrow will bring.

With my research, I think I have finally figured out the actual cause of my issues : I have been floxed. First time in 2017/2018, when I developped weird neurological symptoms, and lastly this Fall (at the same time I've been polydrugged), when I've been given 30 pills of Ciflox.

Edit : I underwent a surgery last Spring, I have contacted the hospital to see if I have been given an flox AB. I had mild symptoms during the Summer that led me to the hospital and to what I'm living now.

My symptoms are getting worse, like they're building up. My family fails to understand what I'm experiencing and it makes everything so hard. I can't leave the house, I live in fear in my bed... I have more and more trouble walking, breathing. Dysautonomia is not helping.

Again, thank you for you kind message, those are rare and priceless. I hope you're doing okay with your cats. ❤️

Wow, admittedly I have never heard of this before, but I'm glad you were able to discover what has contributed to your difficulties.  Keep doing your research.  From the little bit I've read, it seems that in time you can heal.

Keep enduring the best you can.  You are stronger than you realize, and I'm sure that in time you will make some sort of improvement.  Things don't happen as fast as we would like them to, but trust that your brain and body are working every second to get better.

Sending you a big hug...

Thanks a lot. I'm hopping for just tiny improvements, that'll be already a lot. ❤️

Exactly!  Even just a tiny improvement can give us the strength and hope to keep going.  You can do this, hang in there!

With my research, I think I have finally figured out the actual cause of my issues : I have been floxed. First time in 2017/2018, when I developped weird neurological symptoms, and lastly this Fall (at the same time I've been polydrugged), when I've been given 30 pills of Ciflox.

oh glad you found out but sorry you've been floxed....

it's a very real thing and one reason I have those drugs listed as ones not to give me (fluoroquinolone class)

we even have issues when giving those type drugs to pets, although the issues appear to be more GI related IIRC (my memory is not so great these days)

but yes there are a lot of members who have had the same problem with fluoroquinolones

I am sorry you're not doing well. I hope things turn around quickly for you

if it helps any, I found that after every bad waves I would be tossed ashore at a much higher level of healing... I hope it is the same for you!!

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME PRIVATE MESSAGES, thank you.

  • pysch med history: 1974 @ age 18 to Oct 2017 (approx 43 yrs total)
  •  Drug list: stelazine, haldol, elavil, lithium, zoloft, celexa, lexapro(doses as high as 40mgs), klonopin, ambien, seroquel(high doses), depakote, zyprexa, lamictal- plus brief trials of dozens of other psych meds over the years
  • started lexapro 2002, dose varied from 20mgs to 40mgs. First attempt to get off it was 2007- WD symptoms were mistaken for "relapse".
  •  2013 too fast taper down to 5mg but WD forced me back to 20mgs
  •  June of 2105, tapered again too rapidly to 2.5mgs by Dec 2015. Found SA, held at 2.5 mgs til May 2016 when I foolishly "jumped off". felt ok until  Sept, then acute WD hit!!  reinstated at 0.3mgs in Oct. 2106
  • Tapered off to zero by  Oct. 2017 Doing very well.
  • Nov. 2018 feel 95% healed, age 63
  • Jan. 2020 feel 100% healed, peaceful and content
