savinggrace
None79, I second what little bird said a hundred fold. Slowing down your taper is, for the most part, going to make it smoother. Diazepam and its active metabolites have very very long half-lives so it takes much longer for your brain/body to feel the cuts. 8 days is not a slow taper rate. Slow and steady wins the race (unless of course you need to take a break to stabilize) Good job on giving your doctor pushback. Their ignorance is what has made us all so sick. (updosing 2.5 mg. to cover ambien C/T ) tapered valium w/ long holds to 12.74 mg. from a high of approximately 20-30 mg/day 2015-present tapered trileptal aggressively for a year; now intermittently; interacts w/ other drugs currently 2024 still on 96 mg. trileptal and 4 mg. remeron Currently on benzo hold as I have to cross-over from brand-name valium to generic diazepam. Current dose of diazepam is 8.8 and valium is 5.7. I had to up-dose the total valium/diazepam from 12.74 to 14.5 where I have stayed since June 2023. I am crossing over to generic at a somewhat tolerable rate of .3mg/month after about 2 months of trial/error w/ updosing. I am not currently tapering; will continue to cross over. Link to comment
None79
@grâce salvatriceI picked up my bottle of 600 drops this morning so I started taking 14 drops this evening. I made it clear to my psychiatrist that I wanted to smooth out as much as possible to avoid intense withdrawal symptoms like I experienced at the end of January. He didn't seem to be questioning his classic protocol... In any case I decided to straighten out for at least 10 days and I will extend it to 15 days if necessary! I'm in no hurry to stop, he just told me that I couldn't drive my car in the event of an accident or work... However, I have to continue living! Staying at home is not the solution. I'm waiting for the response this week for a new job. I continue to fight and listen to your valuable advice! 1 01/2008-08/2008 : 20 mg deroxat Crash après 1 mois 01/2009-04/2014 : 20 mg deroxat Crash au bout de 3 mois 09/2014-11/2022 : 10 mg deroxat, 0 émotion, 0 énergie, pleine anxiété 11/2022 : arrêt du deroxat sur 5 jours 01/2023-05/23 : plusieurs dépressions 10 mg Deroxat pendant 4 mois crash 06/2023-11/2023 : 75 mg Effexor aucun effet SWITCH 01/12/23 : 20 mg de Prozac, diminuer 30 mg de Valium à 2 mg... savinggrace
Geez, I have been driving the entire time I have been on benzos but I never feel sedated. I can see advising someone not to drive if they are taking high doses and are heavily sedated, but seriously, telling people not to drive is pretty cavalier...though so is telling people to go off these drugs so fast. Do you have enough diazepam that you can taper slower for quite some time w/o him knowing it? (if need be).... None79
Yes, this speech is totally absurd to say, you feel anxiety at 5/10 it may not be time to stop... On the other hand, stay at home, withdrawn and don't drive, don't see anyone... Yes I have more than enough to last I have 600 drops in the bottle. He will not count the remaining drops each month at the consultation but will give me a bottle again. It's my life, I'm starting to differentiate normal anxiety from drug withdrawal effects... I need calm and meditation to soothe myself. 01/2008-08/2008 : 20 mg deroxat Crash après 1 mois 01/2009-04/2014 : 20 mg deroxat Crash au bout de 3 mois 09/2014-11/2022 : 10 mg deroxat, 0 émotion, 0 énergie, pleine anxiété 11/2022 : arrêt du deroxat sur 5 jours 01/2023-05/23 : plusieurs dépressions 10 mg Deroxat pendant 4 mois crash 06/2023-11/2023 : 75 mg Effexor aucun effet SWITCH 01/12/23 : 20 mg de Prozac, diminuer 30 mg de Valium à 2 mg... None79
Hello, to give some news, I reduced Valium to 13 drops yesterday. Anxiety is manageable through sport and meditation during the day. On the other hand, I experience many very real dreams and many nighttime awakenings... Any natural tips for this? Melatonin?
