Hi and thanx for reading/ asking!

Yes... I know it. I started to drink alcohol again on Xmas 2021 after I had some relief. I think it was that "normal" abuse u see all over the society. Like a few beers the first day and 2 or 3 wines the other. And suddenly after 8 weeks or so boom... crash! I directly recognized it. Get shxxy sleep for a whole night. Then declining started over month. I earned more severness again. Symptoms got more intense again. Weakness like an old man....

So yes I am pretty sure it was the alcohol.

@Driksdog

Have you improved your baseline now a little since then?

What symptoms are you still experiencing?

It gets better our body remains sensitive for a long time to setbacks unfortunately but it will diminish in time.

Started 10mg escitalopram March 2016 and stopped CT Feb 2017.

Started 10mg citalopram May 2019

Swapped with mirtazapine mid June 2019 used for a week and then switched to Escitalopram 5mg at the end of July 2019, increased gradually to 10mg in September, 15mg in October and 20mg in January 2020. Tapered down to 15mg in April. 10mg in June then a week tapering to 5mg and then stopped CT.
Resumed escitalopram in November 2020 at 5mg, increased to 10mg in February 2021, tapered down to 5mg in May 2021 and tapered down to 2.5 in the space of a week in September 2021. Resumed escitalopram at the end of December 2022 at 5mg, increased it to 10mg in March 2023 then tapered down to 5mg in June and down to 2.5mg in July. Started escitalopram 5mg beginning of December 2023 then stopped after 4 days. Took amytryptamine for 2 days then restarted escitalopram at 5mg, after two weeks increased it to 7.5mg, kept it for 1 week then 10mg for 1 week but two many side effects so went back to 5mg. Beginning of January 2023 stopped escitalopram for 1 day then 2.5mg for the next day. Developed  discontinuation symptoms reinstated it at 2.5 for 1 week and 1.5 for the following week then stopped. I’m currently experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Yes to be honest it's better again. The unnatural Sensitivity and also the weakness and headpressure. I had days where it felt like someone sticked a nail in my head. What bother me the most at the moment it's the emptyness, aphaty, no emotions, no soul... The feeling not to be human. Just an empty shell of the person I was.

I hope u are right. Thanx. Idk how long ppl can stand this. Not to forget... Sleep isn't refreshing. I wake up every day with hangover style feeling.

I find that forcing myself out of the house, distracting makes feel more connected and adds purpose to my life making me feel more motivated and happier.

Hey I know that technic. Fake it until u make it. I forced me alot. Learned how to wingfoil in the last 2 years. Don't ask me how. Sometimes I felt like braincancer after 2 hours on the lake. Maybe heavy sport is also wrong but I need anything to feel a bit Alive.

I've just read this entire topic over the last couple days looking for insight as to how to handle drinking at my upcoming bachelorette next month and wedding in May and I'm not gonna lie, I came in with hope and now I'm sad.

As you'll see from my signature, I did a too fast taper over the summer in 2023, not knowing anything really about withdrawal or hyperbolic tapering, just following advice of my doctor 😑. I didn't even realize what I was going through was withdrawals until after the holidays this year. I didn't drink more than 1-2 drinks total from June-Sept during my taper because I was 1) tapering and 2) training for a marathon. I ran the marathon in early October, and never went back to drinking heavily, I can't remember the last time I actually got drunk, but definitely had a few consecutive nights of at least 1 drink between October-December. Couple that with no sleep on NYE and thus began the worst wave I've ever had in my life. While I hate that I experienced that, at the same time, that experience is what lead me to look into what I was feeling more, and thus finding SA and realizing what I was experiencing was withdrawal.

I was so hoping that if I reinstated and stabilized it may also mean I could indulge and feel normal with my friends and family for a few days while we celebrate but now I'm just feeling dejected.

20mg citalopram - 11/2010 ~ 2014 (prescribed for panic attacks)
20mg escitalopram (Can't remember why i changed meds) - 2014 - 3/2020

10mg citalopram - 3/2020

5mg citalopram - 4/2020
Withdrawal from 4/2020-7/2020

Reinstated with 50 mg Sertraline - 7/2020 - 6/2023
25 mg Sertraline taper and micro dosing Psilocybin - 7/2023
12.5mg Sertraline taper every other day and micro dosing Psilocybin - 8/2023
0 mg Sertraline and micro dosing Psilocybin - 9/2023
Micro dosing ~125mg Psilocybin off and on July 2023-January 2024

Withdrawals began in early November 2023// Found SA in January 2024
Attempting Reinstatement: 1 mg Zoloft liquid solution 2/22/2024 - present
