I wanted to know of someone who has left amisulpride, or is in the process of leaving, I'm at 400 mg, try decreasing 50 mg but could not sleep, I will try with 12 mg, I scare me to return psychosis.

Excuse the English but I speak is Spanish.

Samanta - -- Welcome to Surviving Antidepressants (SA)!

I'm glad that you found us now before you made any other changes to your dose of amisulpride, which is also known as Solian.

Would you write more about your history taking Amisulpride:

  • When did you start taking it, the month and year?

  • How long have you been taking 400 mg?

People who go off psychiatric medications have found that going very slowly is the safest way to discontinue. We suggest that people reduce by a maximum of 10% and stay at that dose for a minimum of one month. Some people discover that they feel better if they make smaller reductions than 10% and stay at a dose for 6-8 weeks or longer. You may be a person who needs to make 5% reductions.

Why taper by 10% of my dosage?

It is common to have problems sleeping when reducing a medication like amisulpride.

What is withdrawal syndrome

Please let us know how things go for you taking 388 mg.

Hello scallywag thanks for your reply. Take valproic acid and risperidone in one year and six months from October 2012 to March 2014, stop taking and had four hospitalizations. I'm amisulpride since January 2015 at 800 mg, then lower to 400 mg in May 2015 with 8 drops of levomepromazina to sleep, I heard that antipsychotic drugs are very difficult to remove, to say about this. My diagnosis is paranoid schizophrenia.

Bipolar disorder diagnosis Valproic Acid 750 mg from October 2012 to February 2014.
Risperidone 5 mg from October 2012 to October 2013.
2014 hospitalized four times for leaving all the drugs.
Diagnosis schizophrenia, amisulpride 800 mg January 2015 until January 2016, then 600 mg to April, 400 mg to the present
levomepromazina 8 drops to sleep.

Samanta Thank you for the information.

Some more questions:

How are you feeling now after you increased from 350 mg to 388 mg of amisulpride?

What is the dosage in mg (milligrams) of 8 drops levomepromazina?

Are you taking any medications other than amisulpride and levomepromazina?

Your medications history:

valproic acid and risperidone: October 2012 - March 2014

amisulpride
Jan 2015 - 800 mg
May 2015 - 400 mg

levomepromazina
May 2015 8 drops to help sleep

A request: Would you put your your history in a signature -- drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-18 months particularly? Any drugs prior to that can just be listed with start and stop years. Please put your withdrawal history in signature

You are wise to be concerned about symptoms. The best protection is to go slowly by making small reductions in dosage no more frequently than one per month.

At this moment I am in 1 drop of levomepromazine and 287.5 ml of amisulpride, I had a very difficult days, with insomnia, strange ideas and anxiety.

I am afraid of not being able to reduce, because I am looking for a job, and I believe that I can not work reducing the medicine.
