Moderator brassmonkey Posted April 20, 2021 Moderator Share Posted April 20, 2021 Hi Frogie-- I'm so sorry to hear of all the problems you've been having. I've been away from the site for a while due to a similar situation. My SIL passed the end of March from lung and liver cancer, so I understand some of your shock. Throw in all the other losses and I can see why you WD is being a problem. Things will settle again with time. I know you are doing it, but be sure to tell your SO just how much you appreciate what he is doing for you. You have a real keeper there. Take it one day at a time and those days will add up quite quickly until it is all behind you. (((((((((((((((((((MONKEY HUGS))))))))))))))))))) 20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013. Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks. The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better. Final Dose 0.016mg. Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017 "It's also important not to become angry, no matter how difficult life is, because you can loose all hope if you can't laugh at yourself and at life in general." Moderator Frogie Posted April 21, 2021 Author Moderator Share Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate all the encouragement you're giving me.. My SO is awesome! Very lucky to have found him. I tell him everyday how lucky I am and he just gives me a hug and says back at ya... I'm so sorry for the loss of your sil. That is such a shame. Cancer is so ugly. My best friend now has lung and a rare one in her hand, after fighting bladder 5 years ago. My sil was transferred to a long term care facility still on the ventilator. Sad situation. I really love the monkey hugs. ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) Back to you. Moderator Frogie Posted January 31, 2022 Author Moderator Share Posted January 31, 2022 Well... Thought I'd do a little update. Got the covid vaccine in March and April, 2021. The 1st one wasn't bad. Had a sore arm and kinda achy. The second one I ran a fever of 102 and a migraine for a week. Well, got my booster Friday. Yesterday wasn't too terrible. I was achy and just felt off. But went out to dinner with some friends we haven't seen for about 6 months. By the time I left the restaurant I felt really bad. I'm kinda glad they went home from there. I got home and got ready for bed and looked at my arm. It was bright red and swollen about the size of a baseball. Still there today. Now running a fever, not much 100 or so. But the headache is back. And just sitting here my resting heart rate was 135. My fitbit said I was in fat burning mode and I wasn't doing anything. Today it's down to 85-90, so I know it's from the vaccine and it will go back down hopefully soon. But I guess I'll take this over the covid. My brother in law had it before Christmas, niece the day after Christmas and not out nephew tested positive Wednesday. I'm glad I haven't been near them for months. My sister in law hasn't gotten it, even being in the house full of it. So that's that. I'm just glad it's over with and I will be over it soon. 1 PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996. Moderator LotusRising Posted February 19, 2022 Moderator Share Posted February 19, 2022 @Frogie Hope all is well with two dogs on board! I have a question about my med times - I am noticing that I do not tend to have symptoms overnight, but I am struggling a bit to make it from my 0400 to my 1000 dose. I’m wondering if it makes sense to move the 0400 dose forward to 0430 or 0500. My sleep is still awful - I wake consistently at 0040, 0200 and then 0400 when my alarm goes off. But I seem to be sleeping when that 0400 alarm goes, so wondering if I move it forward if I might end up sleeping a bit longer. Would making this change be too much for my cns? And if it makes things worse, can I just move it back again? I am currently dropping two doses per day and current medication times are 0400/1000/1600/2200. 2003-2009 on and off various SSRI's for short periods, Ativan prn 2010-2011 Ativan, up to 1.5mg/day - tapered off without issue 2013-2021 ativan 1-1.5mg 10-12x/month, daily starting Oct 21 to help with buspar WD 2016 - Effexor 75mg, short-term 2021 Mar -Jun Buspar ADR at high dose, tapered 3 months 2021 Aug Wellbutrin 150mg for 5 days (ADR), then MIrtazapine 7.5mg for 7 days (ADR) Oct 22/21 - Direct switch ativan to clonazepam (don't do this) Tapered clonaz Oct/21 - Apr/23 - 0mg! Moderator Frogie Posted June 15, 2022 Author Moderator Share Posted June 15, 2022 I'm going to make a quick update then going back to a nice nap. As most everyone on here knows, my best friend of 54 years lost her battle to cancer on April 18. Two weeks later a high school friend of mine's son had a tragic accident, very sad. Then a couple of weeks ago a high school friend of mine's husband passed away from cancer. So I can honestly cancer S**CKS! Sunday of Memorial weekend, my sister in law and mother in law wanted to come for a bbq. My sister in law said she had a cold, and had tested twice for covid and both were negative. So we said sure. Had a nice day. Tuesday, she called and said, guess, "I tested positive." Oh great, then "hubby" came home Wednesday sick from work, tested positive Thursday, my Uncle that lives with us positive on Friday. I tested negative. I thought I have it beat. Nope, Monday morning tested positive. They now put you on a new antiviral medication called Paxlovid. Well, I'm sensitive to any medications, and they said don't worry, no one has had a problem that we know of. My sister in law, "hubby" and Uncle had no problem, so I took it. Day 3 (you take it for 5 days) I was sicker with side effects from the medication than I was from covid. We are all just thankful that my 89 year old mother in law never got one symptom. That was a blessing in disguise. I am still not at my best. I did get out of bed and take a shower and cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms today, so maybe I'm on the mend. I do get out of bed daily, take a shower and end up in my recliner sleeping a lot. I hope by the weekend I will be back on. That's my saga. Oh and through all of this I broke a tooth and can't get it fixed because I have covid. When it rains it pours lol... I hope everyone is doing well.
