2001 - 2005 prozac,  2001 - 2017 various benzos, mainly diazapem and zanex,  2002 - 2017 olanzapine or seroquel,  2002 -2017 propanolol, 2005 - 2009 venlafaxine 75mg , forced to go cold turkey off venlafaxine as moved Thailand, doctor cut me off and couldn't get it there, severely ill for over 2 years, countered withdrawals with more zanex and seroquel

2014 returned to UK, mainly to get treatment getting off meds

doctor advised to taper seroquel over a few weeks, severely ill and bed bed-bound so reinstated it, 2015 tapered seroquel myself slower over a few months, was off it 2 months and was too ill so went on olanzapine, became zombie and too tired to get out of bed, went back on seroquel, very depressed so went back on venlafaxine, didnt work  so doctor swapped to zoloft became very agitated so back on venlafaxine

June 2016 - felt strong enough to begin tapering again, started what I thought was a slow taper of all meds,  2016 July Not had any alcoholic drink since this date,

2016 October completely off diazepem, 2017 Feb completely off seroquel, 2017 March completely off proponanlol, 2017 April (day before birthday) completely off venlafaxine, OFF ALL MEDS 11/4/2017, was fine for nearly 3 months and then delayed withdrawal hit,

supplements taking: turmeric capsules, NiaCel (nicotinamide riboside), Vit B12 sublingual, Vit B3, Vit B6, Vit B1, apple cider vinegar, manuka umf 10 honey, camu camu powder,  melatonin when needed, epsom salt baths, juices, smoothies,

2 Year Update off all psyche drugs!!!

been umming and ahing wether or not to write my success story but decided to leave it another few months just to make sure,

things are pretty much resolved now, would consider myself healed around 95%, the last few months have been fantastic and sleep has been mostly good, I am back looking good, no longer have black bags under eyes, put back on the lost weight and usually walking around with a smile,

night times no longer revolve around withdrawal, i dont have epsom salt baths every night anymore and no longer in bed by 7.30, usually go to bed around 9.30 - 10.30 and then usually asleep within 30 mins, usually then sleep quite solid until around 6 - 7 ish, sometimes wake briefly during night but get back off fast

if have a lot of stress then that can have a negative impact on sleep but this is true for regular people also,

35 years old tomorrow, remember my last birthday was awful as didnt sleep night before, hopefully not cursed myself writing this update,

thanks for reading

Brilliant mate ,im happy for you .👍💪.

Happy birthday .

Take care.

Alcohol free since February 2015

1MG diazepam

4.5MG PROZAC.

Was watching tv last night and there was some info at top left of screen with a timer etc, the numbers and writing was extremely small and I was sat quite far away but could read the writing and numbers very clearly, that would of been impossible to read last year, even writing 5 times that size would of been very blurry and not possible to read last year, was very surprised, hopefully vision will remain good from now on

  • 4 months later...

needing a bit of help if anyone can, withdrawal wise been doing great but keep having problems with my throat which come and go, on Sunday noticed a small round lump top of neck under chin right side, i totally panicked and didnt sleep that night, went emergency doctor Monday morning and they said they think its a swollen lymph node (dont like the word think), told them my daughters had a cold and sore throat and they think i must of caught it, although ive not had a cold but had a uncomfortable throat for a couple weeks (wouldn't ay sore though)

throat felt mostly fine until yesterday dinner time when i had a spoon full of manuka honey and a big bowl of cream of chicken soap then a couple of hours later my throat started feeling all swollen and struggling to swallow, i bought some ant-histamines and ibropofen which took and couple hours later throat felt quite bit better, this morning throat feels a bit swollen again, just took another antihistamine,

does this sound like a food alergy? im totally panicking and not handling this well at all as the lump still there

2016 October completely off diazepem, 2017 Feb completely off seroquel, 2017 March completely off proponanlol, 2017 April (day before birthday) completely off venlafaxine, OFF ALL MEDS 11/4/2017, was fine for nearly 3 months and then delayed withdrawal hit,

ok so throat problems over the last 3 - 4 weeks have been from silent acid reflux, my throat is still really inflamed, it died down a bit but has flared back up, been doctors today and they have given me a short course of prevacid, said to take them so my throat can heal and the inflammation go down

thought back and this acid reflux attack started after took diazpem which only usually take once every few months, read that diazpem can relax the oesophageal sphictnter and cause mass reflux, my throat was similar when took diazepem 4 months ago also but was ok after a week

what is anyones thoughts of taking a 1 - 2 week course of prevacid?

been on nexium ppi 20mg now for 2 weeks and its not helping my sore throat, do I need to taper off them if only been on for 2 weeks???

100% my sore throat is being caused by Laryngopharyngeal reflux (lpr,) its not the acid causing it but been reading that pepsins (stomach enzymes) can get stuck in mucus membranes and every time eat something acidic it can trigger them and they start digesting your throat causing inflammation, im starting a alkaline diet today, read it can take many many months for pepsins to clear from the throat

any advice about if need taper nexium appreciated

Hi Alto, thanks for asking, I’m doing much better than my previous updates, I considered myself basically fully healed around a month ago and felt that way for a good few months, was getting ready to write a success story until I got a sinus infection which has flared up my digestive issues again, I think it may have effected my vagus nerve which has slowed down gut motility again, been taking 5htp the last week and motility is speeding up again so hopefully getting back to normal,

I believe all these digestive issues and sibo been dealing with have been down to vagus nerve and low gut serotonin which has caused slow gut motility, prokinetics have been most helpful

also bought a home hyperbaric chamber which use most morning which really helps things, I think this has been a big part of healing recently

I could write a success story now but stubborn and want wait till completely healed

take care

It’s a 1.5 ATA macy pan soft chamber, recent studies show 1.3 - 1.5 ATA is the best pressure for healing any kind of brain injuries, anything higher can be too much for the brain, it’s best to take it slow and steady when healing any neurological damage, that will explain why I had a bad reaction years ago when I tried a session at 3.0 ATA

its also great for sibo and Candida which is what been dealing with over the last year or so

Trying to add a photo of the chamber but saying files too large

Hi All,

This seems to a good thread to ask: is there evidence that HPOT may help with withdrawal and tapering? There are many providers who offer HPOT for ~ $150-200 per session, is this a good way to test the waters before committing to buying a $20K machine?

Lexapro started 2006, 10 mg 2007 tapered to 0 over a month. Felt poorly, got wd but did not know

2008  Put back on L, 20 mg

2015-16 tapered to 0 over several months. Severe Discontinuation symptoms several days after.

2016: 20 mg, 2016-April 2018 slow taper to 0.

2018 April: Drug - free!!! June: Withdrawal started 🤯 July: Back on Escitalopram, 10 mg, Nov: 15 mg,

2019: Feb 15 13.75 mg, Feb 23 updose to 15 mg, Sep 6  13.75 mg, Sep 16 12.5 mg, Oct 5 11.25 mg, Oct 23 updose 12 mg

2020: Jan 13 11.5 mg Jan 16 updose 11.9 mg, Feb-Dec  slowly tapered from 11.6 to 6.6 mg.

2021: Oct 5 mg

2022: Jul 3.8 mg

Holding due to bad symptoms of tiredness, brain fog, depression.

Bupropion trial sep- nov 2019 no relief from wd. 100, 150, 100, 75, 50, 0 mg

Testosterone Aug 2019-April 2021 - injections, stopped abruptly, experienced wd from T discontinuation . Nov 2021 - current - topical. Massive wave from T re-introduction

Hi Guys, long time since I've been on here, been meaning to come back to write success story, living life normally now, I wouldn't say 100% healed as still have some sleep issues when ive been under stress or if I have overdone it in the gym and still sometimes have digestive issues but mostly all resolved, you can basically see my journey from my intro topic so I wont repeat it all, im back socialising and able to drink with friends when I want although I only do this once a week normally sometimes twice, I do think in a few years I will be even more healed as time is the healer in withdrawal and its a lot of time that's needed not just a few months, things that set me back most in the first couple years was trying loads supplements, its best to just let self heal naturally as supplements just upset the nervous system when in withdrawal and delay healing, once nervous system settled in a year or 2 then can try supplements, not sure what else to write really so will leave it at that, will pop back in the future sometime, a special thanks to the mods and other members especially powerback who helped me during the bad times.

Thanks so much for coming back to let us know how well you are doing @dj2010 - it is great to hear!

-1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta. Fast taper (essentially CT); withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD)

-10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Several unsuccessful slow tapers of Zoloft; went up and down in dose a lot

-Spring 2013 back on 1 mg Klonopin to counter WD symptoms; switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to 35 mg citalopram
-Two attempts at slow tapering citalopram, always increased dose due to WD; also increased Klonopin to 1.25 mg in 2014, then to 1.5 mg in 2015

-8/17-9/17: After holding one year at 20 mg, feeling withdrawal symptoms due to stress - slowly increased to 25 mg. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?)  - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg).
