Ok, @Carmie has challenged us to write down our current positives, so I am gonna do that! I hate full-time negativity.

1. I can work, full time. This is both a positive and negative... some days I feel like I am going to work on acid, but some days are fairly normal and I am appreciative of having something to do to distract me.

2. My parents. They are fully supportive of me, don't doubt me, and give me as much love and comfort as they can. I am blessed.

3. I have friends who follow suit. Positive, supportive, caring, loving. One of my best friends is a massage therapist and another best friend is a hairdresser and does my hair... I am spoiled.

4. I have made some amazing friends from these online psych med communities. Friends who will help me live my life for the better. People I will never, ever be able to forget.

5. After several months avoiding concerts and movie theaters (hyper-sensitivity, am I right?) I went to a concert a few weeks ago and I had an amazing time. No anxiety, nothing. I could handle it and had a fun time.

6. I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and same thing... Surrounded by friends, no anxiety, just pure happiness and feelings of content.

Thanks for the suggestion, Carm!

Went to a friend's wedding which was so fun but hectic, was up late each night I was away, got the flu or something else very nasty right after it, had to get a steroid injection for my asthma/lungs, ran out of magnesium the week before and didn't get more, started my period, switched over to full liquid dose. WOW, writing that out I just realized how much that all is. But as you, I know the anxiety and agitation from it all should settle down soon.

Neuro emotion tiiiime!

Feeling pretty down and hopeless today.

I woke up this morning and it was obvious.

The only "reasons" for these emotions I could possibly see would be either my body still trying to get used to liquid meds or it is hormonal.

I woke up a couple days ago to an irritated forehead with a breakout.

But it probably doesn't do much good to pour over reasons "why."

I am at work and luckily it's giving me something else to focus on.

I love your sense of humor. I mean, you're a gifted writer and that's part of it but you put a great, big, funny spin on the bad stuff.

I am sorry it's a blithering bad day. There often seems no rhyme or reason to symptoms because (this is one theory of mine) so much goes into what makes us feel the way we do, internal and external factors. So although as journalists we love, love to search out answers to things (😅) , I'm finding that with this withdrawal rodeo, by the time I've begun to suspect a cause, the symptom passes. 😂

You are doing wonderful -- you crossed over to the liquid Celexa 100 percent!! You're putting these meds to shame. They want us to think we can't escape but every step away is escaping. I admire the research you've done, the drastic life changes you've made to make this happen, and the discipline to stick with it.

Thanks for the inspiration (and the laughs). 💙

* Provigil: 25-100 mg PRN 2005 to mid-2015; 200-300 mg mid-2015 to early 2016; tapered from 300 mg in early 2016 to 100 mg early 2017; tapered from 100 mg early 2017 to 33 mg June 15, 2019;  8.9 mg at present.

* Amitriptyline: 10-15 mg 2002-2013; 25 mg 2014 to December 5, 2018; December 15, 2018 converted to water suspension and tapered to 16.5 mg at present

* Diazepam: 5 mg at night 2002-present

 Supplements: Iron for anemia

Recent tapering timeline:

2019:  Fluoxetine 60 mg        Provigil 33.5 mg      Amitriptyline 25 mg   Diazepam 5 mg

2022:          45.2 mg                      8.9 mg                     16.5 mg                        5 mg

Back Story: From 2012 thru early 2017, relocated and cycled through over 20 primary and psych docs (supposedly for severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) who prescribed two dozen different psych meds in search of the "perfect therapeutic combo." Took most for only a few days, some for a week. Included Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Lexapro, Seroquel, Lamictal, Klonopin, Lyrica, Gabapentin, Belsomra, Tramadol, Librium, Halcyon, Remeron and -- the last straw, Trintellix. Began in early 2016 when it was still called Brintellix (Pharma's attempt to combine the words "brilliance" and "intelligence" in a pill name), became unable to eat or sleep, lost 25 lbs and the ability to speak. Slowly tapered myself back to Prozac by 2017 but was unable to stop akathisia, cortisol mornings and kindling which continue, actively, through present.

To continue recognizing the positive...

I went to see my equine therapist yesterday after work and I adore her. And the horses too, of course!

We sat with a couple ponies while they were eating and just had a long talk.

I was telling her how difficult it is to bring in and build coping skills and strategies that you've never learned (because you were only given meds), WHILE you are trying to remove meds.

I said it's like a double whammy and she was very empathetic.

But what really made me happy was that she said something like, "You got this. I got your back. We'll get you there."

I already liked her as a therapist, but this REALLY made me connect to her. It was so reassuring!

I love good people.

Positivity post, again, thanks to miss Carmie.

1. It's Friday, which means I have a weekend of rest to look forward to.

2. I'm having a movie night with a friend tonight. One of my favorite things to do with friends; relax and laugh.

3. My mom and I are planning a night away together for my birthday coming up in a couple months. I can't get into anything wild this year, so she's treating me.

4. I'm wearing a new dress today that I haven't had the chance to wear yet. Nice and comfy.

5. I'm finally over the majority of my symptoms I got from getting sick a few weeks ago. I still have a slight cough, but everything else is better. Took a while!

Hi @sunnyside69

Thanks for checking in! I actually woke up feeling pretty decent yesterday but then got a call from my mom that my grandma had been in a serious car accident. We had to pack ASAP and get in the car to drive to Vegas where she lives. I'm halfway through the roadtrip right now and I don't know how long I'll be there. So I'm trying my best to stay calm and be there for my mom.

On the evening of the 24th I dropped my liquid dose from 10mg (5mL) to 9mg (4.5mL).

I have been holding for several months and felt it was time.

I hadn't been to the movies in several months because it was way too stimulation and anxiety inducing for me,

but lately I have been to 2 movies in theaters and it felt like a good sign that I was ok to drop.

Here's hoping!

Wow, it's already been a week since I dropped? Time does fly, sometimes... haha.

The first 2 days immediately following my drop I had eye twitching in my right eye.

4 days after my drop I experienced heightened anxiety and it still remains, but isn't horrible.

Today, 7th day, I am experiencing a numb/pins and needles feeling in my right palm and also weird and aggressive twitching/flinching in my right pointer finger.

This could be related to WD but I also work on a computer all day, so might just be a carpel tunnel-esque flare.

Hope everyone has a good week!

❤️

Noting this because it's good to do so and I also don't know if this is withdrawal, hormonal, both or a fluke.

Woke up 3 times last night with anxiety and burning skin from my back to my neck. When I did fall back asleep I felt like I was still half awake. I usually don't have many, if any, sleep issues so this was disorienting. I woke up feeling really frazzled and uncomfortable. Managed to go back to sleep for a solid few hours without any issues. I took the day off work to rest more, get out in the sun and walk, and meet up with a friend.

So ever since Tuesday night I have gotten really restless in the evenings when trying to sleep, very akathisia like, and my sleep has been crap.

The only thing I have changed in my routine is that I have recently added vitamin C into my nighttime supplements. (I take my magnesium and probiotic at night).

I might be in a regular ol' wave or it may be the vitamin C, which would be weird, but WD is weird, so who knows.

I am going to cut it out for the weekend and see if my sleep goes back to normal.

Hey Happiness,

Thanks for dropping by onto my thread. I see you've had some restless nights...it's exhausting, I know.

I often get weird sleep issues, and for me it's hormonal...it's hard to know which is hormones and which is antidep side effects, sometimes. I think you've made a good call with taking a day off work, looking after self.

Best wishes,

Ruth x

Hi @puthappinessfirst...checking in to see if you noticed any difference after dropping the vitamin c over the weekend? I have often thought of giving it to Glo but she eats so much fruit, I just can't imagine she needs a supplement. But curious to see if you feel better.....which I hope you do!  best wishes, glosmom

Hi @Glosmom

For some reason, nixing the vit C supplement has seemed to be a good move for me.

Not sure why exactly, but I guess right now less is more for me.

I was taking a full supplement, so I could always try cutting it in half or thirds for more testing, but right now I am holding off on it.

If you do try to give it to Glo, maybe try that. Small dose and titrate up as needed.

I started taking it to help my adrenals, but right now I will just stick with magnesium and lots of coconut/aloe water.
