@benesh Are you unable to afford Dr. Knight's services? It seems that under her care, you were going off escitalopram in July but this was interrupted by your vacation.

Please be aware that you are transferring the cost of your care to me, represented by my unpaid hours.

@benesh How are you doing?  I really can relate to feeling overwhelmed to the point of searching out looking for answers.. someone to please help us....Sounds like you have a wonderful husband and sister there to support you...Lean on them and us here on SA too.  Fear and desperation can be so powerful.  This can lead to poly-drugging in a panic to stop the pain.   Many people seek out things like---a new drug, benzol, this and that  supplement, I did, hence the 4 drugs I am on🙄  Do not beat yourself up......Take compassion on yourself, take a deep breath and come up with a plan to find your way out of this nightmare...  This means digging in deep, lean on whatever gives you strength and encouragement.

Benesh you have fought to hard and worked at this for so long, I know it can get very discouraging but you can do this.  Here is something I want to share with you from Baylissa Frederick.  She is an remarkable, kind, compassionate person.  Have you looked at her website?   https://mccare.org/

This is from her success stories part of her website http:// http://baylissa.com/success-stories/

I know without a doubt that people do heal. It’s the aspect of support work that makes it most rewarding. Being able to witness this healing process. Recovery is indeed the normal outcome of withdrawal, no matter how problematic it has been: cold turkey, detox, a cocktail of drugs, ECT, you name it… no matter how protracted. The body is resilient and self-healing and the most important thing to remember is that this experience is temporary – regardless of how traumatic it has been and how long it is taking. This, too, shall pass!]

There are many on this journey alongside of you..Hold on tight.🌞

I am so sorry for the pain that you are going through. I also understand how desperate one can get when their CNS is going haywire. My heart goes out to you. I am not a MOD and feel that all I can do is offer my support as a friend. Understand that you WILL heal in time. The more drugs you add to the mix, the longer and more painful the process.

Dear @Ninabird  and @Greatful and @Altostrata,

Ok so back in a window once again and  perfect timing. After receiving Altostratas responses, I sat down with my sis and hubby and said something has to change. I can’t keep figuring things out on my own. Wave brain prevents figuring things out..at least for me.Anyway we decided to meet weekly; sister typing up notes and reading the baylissa book and discussing together. They also gave me some clear parameters of morning activities that keep me moving along. I showed my nephew the taper graph on the site and he showed me how to use it. So now I have a plan going forward to taper the escitalopram.
Meanwhile, last Wednesday finally feeling clear headed, I drove to visit friends for the first time in a very long time. My hubby called me and said he did not feel right. I sped home, drove to ER and immediately they took him back and determined he was having a heart attack. Stent put in, stayed in Cardiac ICU FOR 2 nights and back home feeling fine. No heart damage. Clearly a miracle.

I am wondrously calm and clear headed. Your words of comfort, ideas, challenges all seemed to play a part in this present part of the journey.

Awww thanks Greatful for reaching out. I have added more resources for the journey ahead.  I realized that the isolation was not working and my sis was getting caregiver burn out. I prayed for who to include and now I have 6 friends who are willing to meet with me at least one time a month. They  are open to learning about withdrawal. Once my Medicare kicked in, I was able to meet again with the psychiatrist. She suggested I take a gene test. A bit complicated  but essentially I have a gene mutation that impacts how drugs are metabolized.
She said to take a supplement. I have to add it to my signature.

I also contacted Baylissa for one session. VERY HELPFUL. Thank for reminding me about her.
I am meeting 1x a month, virtually with Angie Peacock from MEDICATING NORMAL. She is also very helpful.
I also found a therapist who does DBT.

So overall aok. Persevering and accepting that this is the road. I think I was fighting the reality for a while.

If I were you, I'd take steps to reduce the covid infection by taking Paxlovid as soon as possible. The risk of covid is more likely than a risk of hypothetical adverse reaction to Paxlovid.

In other words, you know you have covid but you may not have an adverse reaction to Paxlovid.

@Ninabird

wow…must be God. I think of you often and when I do I ask for His mercy and strength. I admire you big time. You are persistent in pursuing help on this forum. Bravo. I value the threads you are apart of. I see you are learning allot. I know it may not mean relief instantly but it will eventually translate into more peace and restoration.

Not being very computer savvy and rather wavy, it requires a bit too much mental energy to get thoughts from my head to my fingers to the keyboard.

It has been a looonggg wave. Some new symptoms. Ugh. Given my age, and the years I have been on these meds..no surprise.
Baby steps, gentleness, self compassion and radical acceptance are all on the menu.

I have spoken with Angie Peacock and Mark Horowitz. Both normalize what I experience which helps.
Appreciating that I know Jesus knows my suffering. Does not take the inner turmoil away but it helps nonetheless.

We will heal and what a huge celebration that will be..until then..

oh my doggy is adorable but even good stress impacts the raw CNS.
Keep going..there are many bystanders cheering you on. Count me as one of them.

Huge strong hugs to you dear Ninabird.

Ain’t it the truth. I am sorry about the intensity of it all ..up down and ..well you know the drill. The roller coaster ride of tapering. You are not alone. It sounds as if you have both family and friend support and many on this forum as well. All of that helps.
I remain committed to a few things..no magic bullet though.

when I wake in the morning my prayer is that I would be more attuned to the miracle of waking up instead of the inner turmoil. Reading certain psalms and ht faithfulness of God no doubt help.

Asking Him to help me trust Him more which means surrender and radical acceptance. Suffering is part of the journey even though this seems untenable at times. HE KNOWS.

Listening to worship music, doing wim hof, cold showers, tapping, walking and other coping skills.
Remember you are not alone. Lots of others on this road with us.

keep taking baby baby steps and when a yukky symptom surfaces practice neutraily vs reaction…oh my there is that yukky symptom. Okay then carry on…

Dr Josef Witt - Doerring says it is the injured brain that is stuck in the loop of catastrophizing..so I will never ever get better or I am getting worse means the injured brain is activated but still healing.
check out Psalm 139 and 121.

lots of love and healing hugs to you.

we are on our way home anyway…

Sounds fascinating; where did you read that. Would love to check the context!

I go on youtube and watch many of Dr. Josefs videos. Unfortunately, I cannot recall which one described this.

Hello @Altostrata@Go2zero, @Shep

or anyone who knows about this program.

It has been a looong 5 months on a hold. Not horrible not good in this moment. At times horrific and other times quiet.
I began this trek of tapering in June of 2019.
I have developed a routine that helps me navigate through the day. Small life but better for CNS.Still all the ugly symptoms.

THE BIG QUESTION IS:

I had a call with Dr. Josef Witt-Doerring about his program. We are older so income is fixed but have some savings in an HSA account.

Is there anyone on the forum who has either worked with him or who has joined his program?

Wish I could write more but brain and body pretty exhausted now. Wanted to get this question out to the community.❤️

Dr. Witt-Doerring offers good care. What happened to Dr. Knight?

Aww amazing @Altostrata, your recall is impeccable. Thanks for your quick response.I have been working with Dr. Knight. She is lovely but does not seem to know tapering. It has been 4 long years and still feel pretty symptomatic and stuck.I follow Dr. Josef on many of his videos. I talk with Angie and participate in her s.g.
I am so desperate at times.Hungry for someone else to provide direction and wisdom. I have done my best to lead this effort but no longer feel I can do this.Hope this makes sense.

Perhaps Dr. Knight can confer with Dr. Witt-Doerring and up her game.

Yes I have asked her to do that and sent her his number.I have sent her links to many of his videos and other related materials.

Not sure why it does not happen.

I told her about OUTRO and Mark Horowitz. I have sent her SA site but to date she has yet to look.I want to possibly go to water tapering of bupropion. I found a youtube explaining it. She watched it but said it was not a good idea. It did not seem precise.

Meanwhile my hubby makes up my pills. He is overloaded by this. I hoped I could do the water method on my own.

Sorry for rambling. One day this will be behind me…..I pray.

@benesh  Hi there girl, how are you doing?...I see you mentioned you Angie Peacock.  Are you a part of her withdrawal group?  I was thinking of looking into joining one..  Has it been helpful.  I wonder if we should start group meeting around the world like AA does....Call it ABIND....Antidepressant & Benzodiazepine induced neurological dysfunction....  To have live personal interaction with others that are going through this would be wonderful.

Sending encouragement and hugs

@Greatful

yes yes and yes.
I had been a 12 stepper years ago. Love the format.

thank you so much for checking in. I seldom come on SA. I get easily overwhelmed these days so streamlining as much as possible.

easy does it.
I wrote an email to you so hopefully we can connect more.
