I liked your post.  No I am not annoyed by you.  I was like the fact that you had found 2 coping techniques.

It is said that you should taper antidepressant first, cause it is an accelerator and makes you anxious, but Zoloft obviously makes me sleepy, is it the drug interaction then?

It is common that people get sleepy/sleep too much when taking antidepressants. But withdrawal can cause anxiety and insomnia. Aripiprazole might be able to help lessen these symptoms if you taper it last.

These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I have learned, not medical advice.

Drug history

2002-2019 Citalopram/Escitalopram, Lamictal
2019 April Escitalopram, quit at 10mg (withdrawal), Oct Escitalopram 10mg reinstated, quit after a few days (adverse reaction)

2019 Oct Lamictal cut from 200mg to 100mg
2019 Dec Lithium 83x2 mg

2020 Aug-Nov Lamictal tapered to 50 mg

2020 Nov 24 Lithium taper started, 30 Jan off Lithium

2021 15. March-31. May Lamictal tapered to 32.5 mg (holding)

2022 10. Jan started taking 25mg+5mg+2mg+0.5 liquid, 22. Jan went back to taking 25mg+5mg+half 5mg

I would suggest taking tomorrow off then! Do a forum free day! Even better, an internet free day. I need to do that too sometimes! Get as much fresh air and nature time as possible. Get a notebook and pen and write down your thoughts and feelings there. Writing by hand helps process things in a very different way and you don't need to wonder what others think or if "somebody" will like it😉

If you do go online, search for mindfulness and meditation videos and do those. Here is one I like to do to calm down:

Don't listen to your mind. Thoughts are not truths. The heart beats. The mind thinks. It's just what it does. There is no need to listen to it. Worrying about if it will get worse or not will not help. Count your breath instead.

I'm logging off now and I think you should too! Both from the internet and from thinking❤️

Zoloft tablets can be made into a liquid.  This is mentioned in Post #1 of the tips for tapering Zoloft topic, near the bottom of the post.

The only problem i have is emotional dysregulation and experiential avoidance - normal human things that can not be solved with meds.

Please review links I have given you. If you trigger withdrawal you might get symptoms that will confirm to any doctor that you are seriously mentally ill and need to take even more medications. See attachment. You are still in the process of stabilizing so going slowly is the only safe thing to do.

@Anna42  Hi, Welcome to SA.  Looks like you have yourself all worked up.  Stop and take a deep breath.  I know this can all be overwhelming and scary.  Then trying to figure things out with a broken chemical brain is even more stressful.  Slow done and take it slower.

Looks like you like to read and there is a lot to read here on SA and the inner compose.  Go to the these links.  The Symptoms & Self Care forum is helpful for connecting with other member who have similar symptoms.

https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/forum/23-events-actions-controversies/

http://Symptoms and self-care

i know there are a lot  of types of coping skills  you can learn to help with going through WD and actually will help you throughout the rest of your life.  I can procrastinate with doing the work to but really it is something you should do.  Pick one or two and learn those.

1- Mediation is one of the best to do it will help you learn how to not get engaged with you thoughts and not be afraid of them.  There in no right or wrong I think doing guided ones on a specific topic is good but I also the less guided is needs to be learned also.  This one you mostly acknowledge your thought (you can say OH thought and gently do back to concentrating on your breath.  If you have meditated before you know you will have thoughts so don't get worked up if you have to be redirecting yourself a lot.  You  are training your brain who is boss.

Pick a  time that you will do it everyday.

2-  tapping this helps to for anxiety.

3- breathing exercises

3- Get a book on CBT and learn about cognitive distortions that we have in our thinking

This is just to name a few, maybe someone will give more skills they use

https://youtu.be/07n2KGoMOFc  This is a guided meditation on you tube It's one from the Mindful Movement.  They have a lot of other ones that are topic focused.

Please take care of yourself and take things slow.  ❤️

@Greatfulthanks a lot, will do all of those and read. As about cognitive therapies, i know also DBT and ACT are helpful for me, i was kinda trained in both of them, might even write about them when i feel better here if people are interested. Meditation is a godsend for me, i need to do it more, it is true. Coping skills are hard to do but worth it, do you maybe have some tips of how to them every day?

@Anna42

Coping in WD

Acceptance is a huge one.

What does acceptance me for me,  well that is a hard one.

1- accepting what ever symptom you have that day.

2-accepting that you may be in this for awhile

3- accepting yourself for who you are for that day.

4- accepting thoughts and not getting caught up in a dialog with them

5-accepting that you may have to take it one minute, one hour, at a time to get through the day.

6- accepting that you have to learn to relay on yourself a lot.

7- accepting that your symptoms could change on by hour, windows may only last 15min.

In other words try not to fight anything..........

Learning to look deep inside yourself and seeing the real you, learning to love the real you.

sharing support and encouragement with other members

learning to take care of yourself. putting up boundaries with yourself and others.

Stay in the day.....Looking to far down the road is only fortune telling the future and putting a dream like setting in place/or a nightmare setting.

Set a  little routine for the day.

Try and get a little exercise

The site is filled with people giving advice, take what works for you and do it.

When we are in WD  bad  decisions with distorted thoughts.   Yes we would all love to hurry and get off, but enough of us have gone through heavy WD and pain with it. You must trust in those that have/are going through harsh WD.  It is something that you will never want to experience again, you will never be able to visualize the amount of mess your brain and body can get into.

If you get to the point that you can't handle it and end up in the hospital they will want to put you on whatever they want and who knows how many,  and most likely you will won't care you just want the pain to stop.

Why are you in such a hurry to get off the Zoloft so fast. If you are not having any adverse affect you may want to sit for a little bit. A slow taper can be trying by it's self

Going off fast does not mean that you will be better fast.  I waited 5 months to start my taper from a drug mess last winter.

Why does the doc think that you maybe bipolar or bpd.  Be very careful how hard you push the doc's.  You need them for your meds to taper.

I do think you should find a good therapist to help you with the CBT

I have one and she is really helping.

might also go rogue from any doctors, as i am very disillusioned

You just need them to refill the prescription so you have enough for a slow taper. You do not need to tell them you are tapering or get them to agree. You can also say you don't feel well at this dose and want to have a lower dose. Unfortunately many have to taper only with the help of peer support instead of doctors.

Greatful mentioned "tapping". I also find this helpful. There is an app called "The Tapping Solution" that has some free sessions.

@Greatful I am fine, did a thing that is very discoraged here tho and tapered to 50 mg Zoloft. Decided to look at my organisms reaction and taper slowly if necessary. The only sideeffect for now is irritation. Not updating anyone cause i feel guilty, I even wanted to delete the account, but that would have caused more worry due to my suicidality. I am very sorry for people with noise sensitivity and everyone in hell. Hope your reaction would not be too strongly worded, i am sensitive :D Had a psychologist talk with me, recieved and adhd diagnosis. She did not offer meds right of the bet tho, thank god. Hope you are okay too, you can share your pain if it helps

When did you do this?  Please give  a while to see how you are affected.  Sometimes it can take a few week or more until something shows up.

I hope all goes well. Be safe and take care of yourself

Be careful of any diagnosis when you are in  wd  and your CNS is a mess.  You really have no way of knowing how you are until you recover from the drugs you are on.....So many have been told there symptoms are from a return of illness and/or a new one showing up.

My therapist is waiting with me to see who I really am off of drugs.  Drugs can cause crazy  things and going off can cause crazy things.

Keep us posted

@Greatful I did taper 3 days ago, will keep everyone updated. Sure, very true about drugs, people just think it is an emerging condition if something happened on meds. I decided to reject all labels and just solve underlying problems.
