Mentor Happy2Heal Posted March 6, 2022 Mentor Share Posted March 6, 2022 1 hour ago, Warriormaden said: Thank you so much happytoheal to take the time to respond and offer support and for your prayers and good thoughts. I am so broken right now. Personal messages and Hope from others means so much. I’ve often thought about looking into medicine for vestibular migraine but I don’t seem to have the light sensitivity etc. Let me know if you find any relief if you try them, and I’m interested to know more about your dizzy experiences on and off meds of you feel up to it sometime. I know I didn’t get out on the meds for this condition but it is a sensation I experience when I’m super anxious just not to this debilitating extent. Hi again I was curious about different causes for dizziness and similar symptoms but I have not been diagnosed with vestibular migraines. I'd never heard of vestibular migraines before. I have had 2 of the other 3 symptoms (sensitivity to light, and the visual aura) and I have also had sensory migraines. Never the headache, thank goodness. It appears to be hereditary, my daughter started having visual auras as a teenager. I have ZERO interest in ANY medication for almost any reason. I am reluctant to even take an OTC pain reliever. I see drugs as the cause of too many problems, not as a solution. That's just me. I have not had issues with dizziness in several years, with the exception of anxiety caused dizziness. I do have that from time to time, but as soon as I realize what is happening I can work to calm myself down and the dizziness goes away pretty quickly. when I had my last dizzy spell that left me crawling on the floor because I kept falling over, it was harder to stay calm but I'd had this before so I knew it would end. I did a body scan for signs of a stroke (at my age and with a heart condition, I need to watch out for strokes. I'm 66) I had no signs of a stroke so I just waited it out and it ended. I don't remember when this was exactly, but probably at least 4 yrs ago, maybe more. I have not had such long lasting symptoms as you describe. I had WD dizziness in the distant past but I found that I was better off not paying much attention to it, and def better off not spending a lot of time in bed!! something about being up and about helped me. I dont' know why. At the end of the day, I would feel almost normal and go to bed and be fine. Then I would wake up the next day feeling the same dizziness again, but if I got up and stayed up, the feeling would gradually go away. It's impossible for me to know if my dizziness was the same as yours though. I wish I knew what to say to help you. my feeling is that working on your anxiety might be helpful and probably can't hurt. The rest will likely go away as you recover. I've done a lot of work on anxiety issues myself but I am finding out that you can fall out of practice and need to start over again almost like with exercise, you know? the use it or lose it? when I recovered from withdrawal, I stopped feeling anxiety and forgot what to do if it came back (I am talking about normal anxiety that one has in a normal tense situation, not a return of WD recovery anxiety) so now I am going back thru the techniques to deal with anxiety as I deal with a tense situation in my every day life it makes a big difference, I go back to the self care threads on this forum and remind myself of what to do. Breathing, yoga and grounding myself all help me a lot. maybe take some time looking into what might help you, it would be a distraction at least. Distractions can help too. do you go out with friends at all? or have some over? call them on the phone? I find that connecting with other people is a great distraction as well. let me know if any of this helps at all. ❤️ PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME PRIVATE MESSAGES, thank you. pysch med history: 1974 @ age 18 to Oct 2017 (approx 43 yrs total) Drug list: stelazine, haldol, elavil, lithium, zoloft, celexa, lexapro(doses as high as 40mgs), klonopin, ambien, seroquel(high doses), depakote, zyprexa, lamictal- plus brief trials of dozens of other psych meds over the years started lexapro 2002, dose varied from 20mgs to 40mgs. First attempt to get off it was 2007- WD symptoms were mistaken for "relapse". 2013 too fast taper down to 5mg but WD forced me back to 20mgs June of 2105, tapered again too rapidly to 2.5mgs by Dec 2015. I’ve been unsuccessful with that twice in the last month and am now just going up to stabilize. You indicate I’ve been messing around and skipping doses the whole time. It only happened when it hit the fan in January and I’ve been trying to increase and split and stabilize ever since with little instructions. I give up. Administrator Altostrata Posted March 7, 2022 Administrator Share Posted March 7, 2022 What we want to see is one drug change at a time. If you increase the dose AND change the drug schedule, those are 2 changes at one time. Two changes can cause an upset, which make your symptom pattern impossible to interpret. You will need to settle into a steady pattern. Please continue to post your daily notes. This is not medical advice. Warriormaden
I had to reinstate benzos even , with a 2 mg Valium and I can feel it thru that. The undulating, it was severe and intolerable leaving me unable to sleep or sit still. I stayed at 25 mg for 6 days and when it didn’t help I added 4 more this morning which cause even more severe anxiety. I am in crisis and waiting for drs to call. I had something similar happen in 2018 when I tapered the first time and got put on the Luvox but not even this bad. I worked so hard to get off benzos over two years ago. I am terrified there is no way out and I am stuck like this with this horrific sensation. Please I need encouraging words. 1993-1994 klonopin/Zoloft 1997-2018 Zolft or Paxil or Lexapro or Prozac and Klonopin or Xanax 2019—Mirtazipine, Luvox, Klonopin 2019 Tapered Mirtazipine and Klonopin 2020-2021—Luvox taper from 100 mg dizzy, boaty, tinnitus, disabled, hopeless Jan 2022 Luvox liquid 16.5 mg Feb 2022 Luvox liquid 19 increased after weeks of boatiness, still not stable Link to comment
Administrator Altostrata Posted March 10, 2022 Administrator Share Posted March 10, 2022 Hey, another drug change! You don't have to post daily notes until you have not changed anything about your drugs -- not dosage, schedule, or adding a drug -- for 2 weeks. Please let us know how you're doing in 2 weeks. If there's any fallout from the benzo, be sure to talk to your doctor about it. This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. Warriormaden
Thank you Alto but , I had to. I was on the verge of not being here anymore. I hadn’t made drug changes. I was tapering my anti d and then got slammed and tried to stabilize by splitting and increasing. I don’t understand why you keep saying that. I could really use some words of encouragement from people if they could.

Thank you, yes , maybe I tried to taper Luvox when I was too close the benzo taper but I thought it was enough time. I felt stable. Clearly not. Hindsight. How awful. I finished klon in October 2019 and I have been tapering the Luvox since Jan 2021. It was weird because I almost felt like, the Luvox made the Klon taper too easy, relatively speaking. I remember thinking Im in trouble with this Luvox someday.
Longroadhome
Hi @Warriormaden if I was you now I’d ride the storm. No panic drug changes. Stay put let things settle. The floaty boat intensifies with anxiety. Think back and notice this yourself. When you feel calm it’s manageable (I’ve seen this in your thread) when you start to panic it intensifies. However much you hate this symptom it’s just another WD symptom, not something that’s going to be with you forever. Only for the WD duration. Also, your body is sensitised to drug changes, so if you don’t get any relief from this increase this could be why. And this means any increase may go against you going forward . When our bodies are in crisis no amount of drug is going to fix it. It will only make it worse. Then the only way is to stabilise for however long it takes. Then start a steady decrease. You won’t be like this forever. Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD.
