marie123
Hello everyone. This is for my records. The updose got rid of some of the worse symptoms (very bad muscle aches, racing thoughts, etc.). I have been left with worse insomnia. It's also because of the 3 hour time difference on my trip since I was taking Mirt 3 hours earlier. Now daylight savings time happened. I've held the dose for a month. The insomnia has a pattern with no or little sleep for two days and then a perfect sleep. I don't feel any anxiety when I go to bed. My spouse in an insomniac too so I don't feel so bad lol. I was able to nap today and I don't feel wired and tired. I've stopped my supplements. This is my plan: Hold the dose Try melatonin for a week I Try magnesium glycinate theanine maybe Try cbn cannibis indica gummy I won't take the gummy at the same time at Mirt since it could react. The middle of the night perhaps. Taking nightly walks. The weather is nicer now. I've done them with the two other withdrawals when sleep was bag and it definitely helped. Get outside in the sun. Lavender spray in the bedroom. Something should work. Be well. Marie. 10/13--10/14 Ambien. Started tapering 1/14 Jumped 10/14. marie123
Hello. Sleep is back to normal and I'm stable. I will be cutting a small amount of .1 mg Mirt in a few days. I think the long hold helped the situation so It should be okay. I want to try to get to 1 mg by dry cutting if I can before I go on a big trip in September. I may try to do the last 1 mg in liquid after I return. I dry cut trazodone all the way to the end, but Mirt I feel is stronger. This is the plan but tapering Mirt at the end is a bit tricky I think. I will finish the taper though and I will be okay. I did try 3 mg of extended release melatonin one time for the erratic sleep. I took it in the middle of the night when I woke up. It gave me another two hours sleep. I woke up very spacy and remained like that most of the day. It also made me a bit depressed. I'm walking nightly about a half mile. It helps tire me out and sleep. Be well. Marie. 10/13--10/14 Ambien. Started tapering 1/14 Jumped 10/14. marie123
Hello. So last night I cut my dose to 1.4 mg Mirt. My old scale that I had been using to taper since 2014 became unusable. I probably waited to long but I switched to my new scale that I had saved for a backup. I always make a plan for my taper. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. My latest plan is to get down to 1 mg by July, hold until September, then go back to Italy for 2 weeks. When I return I may decide to switch to liquid. We'll see. I know one thing though--I'm taking it nice and slow with 1 month holds at least. I want to be able to walk off Mirt with minimum symptoms. I am making my own weighted blanket by taking an extra blanket and folding it a few times. I place it on my regular comforter. I walk a few hours before bed for a half mile. I also went back to listening to David Attenborough on the Alexa at night in bed. These things helped my sleep get better recently. Be well. Marie. 1 10/13--10/14 Ambien. marie123
Hello. The .1 mg cut Mirt is acting like one of my regular cuts. After a few days insomnia gets a bit worse, more achy and a bad mirt dream. It improves some after this and the the third week I feel worse again. A few days after that I feel somewhat better and then stable. So I am recovered from the updose. I just need to give it enough time to settle (at least a month). The taper is taking a long time. I remember asking my doctor three questions when he recommended Mirt for sleep: Is it addictive? Are there any side effects? Is it hard to taper off? Doc said, "No it's not addictive. You might feel a little sleepy. Just cut the pill in half for a week, then cut it in half again for a week and then you are done." Sound familiar? Be well. Marie. 1 10/13--10/14 Ambien. Started tapering 1/14 Jumped 10/14. Hibari
Hi @marie123 It sounds like you are feeling stable again and that the updose worked. Yeah, doctors have no idea about these meds. We are the ones who become experts. You've done a very wise taper and are taking care of yourself. This will end but I do understand how tedious it is. You're getting there.
