ive had some pretty bad days since the decrease in pregabalin but I'm holding and not going back up.  I'll wait to stabilise.

ive tried to change my signature but still can't do it grrr it's not saving.  Need to have a good look I know it's me doh!

yeah changes are happening at work and all for the better.  Everything calmer and we are more focused on the job and getting ready for our ofsted inspection which is due any time now.  Ofsted a major thing for me and the nursery as they can ruin you with their reports.  We have to be really on the ball.  If I get a bad report that really affects the 'business'. And anyway I don't do 'bad' reports 😉

Georgies coat growing back nicely though I still look at the patchwork quilt when she sidles past thinking how much it's cost me !! 

But she is still have problems with her gut.  I'm waiting to see how she goes this week and if no better back to the vets.  They said if she does return with the same problem it could mean having an endoscopy.  Fingers crossed it's just tail end of what's been troubling her.

Thought it was time to write this months update on my symptoms etc and how I'm getting on

 

ive left it until today to write because last week wasn't very good but today I'm having a little window so time to write before the tsunami re appears.

 

symptoms

sense of humour: gone but not forgotten ..

anxiety :  at times unbearable but coping 

little panics but not full blown panic attacks: every day on and off 

depression :  moderate 

muscle spasms:  Mornings in particular. Very painful

akathesia: comes and goes throughout the day (awful)

tinnitus:  all the time and worse this month but doesn't really bother me

insomnia: waking at about 4ish each morning with cortisol spikes dozing thereafter

hip pain : much better this month

dry eyes: getting better

blurry vision: getting better

hot tingly skin: comes on and off during the day

hot flashes and night sweats: better this month but still there

stomach pain: on and off but doesn't bother me

nausea: new this month comes on and off all day but doesn't worry me I eat in-between

pains in body: on and off but doesn't bother me

visual interference: new one. White clouds that descend in my pheriferal vision both eyes outer sides. Doesn't bother me. On and off anytime.

blood blisters under the skin on arms: new one. Well not brand new! I have had this on and off for a period of time and associate it with the AD.  Would like to hear if anyone else gets the same?

headaches: gone (last couple of months anyway)

allergies: getting worse. Pollen etc

numbness in toes and pins and needles in body: numbness there all the time and pins and needles on and off

Tired

there are more but these are the main ones.

 

Things that help

Gym.  Though I am unable to do spin or body pump due to bursitis ( yet another symptom I associate with Wd) as well as pain in my feet ! Short term I'm doing Yoga and aqua aerobics 

walking every day with my dog 🐶 

Completing my daily diary of how I'm doing and my symptoms ( great way of checking miniscule improvements )

Work. Really good for trying to take my mind off me for a short while

The support I get from moderators.  This site is a life saver

Lovely friendships I have made on this site and the support we give each other

Taking part in life even during difficult days.  Example:  going out to a restaurant with my lovely family

 

Things that don't help

Fixated on negative stories on this site. Keep off.

Thinking I'm going to be like this forever 

Watching people get on with their lives while mine is on hold

 

My diet remains good.  All fresh food lots of fruit and veg and nuts and seeds and oily fish daily. No caffeine no alcohol.  Magnesium supplement 3x100 mg daily.

 

Thought for this month ....

she arrived early hours this morning . They haven’t named her yet . 6lb 14oz.

it’s really funny because I always forget to write that as a symptom each month because I’ve had it for years and never associated it with my use of antidepressants until now. 

Im going to write s thread shortly because there are so many symptoms I have had while on antidepressants that I thought were  “just me” that were there long term or came on and off and it’s only now that I’m going through WD And have had them  that I realise the association.

Paul has decided to take himself off to Palma for the week to do some painting (oil and pastels) and mill and dame staying with me . 

I have one or two pieces of his round my house. His living room is full of his canvas work .

I know I’m lucky to have a grandchild . Her name is Amalie. My sister  has 9 . 

Ive  called again today fed and changed her and done the ironing and watered the outdoor plants 🌱 I’m cooking for them all tomorrow plus my son and his partner a nice Sunday roast .

Been trying to write this all weekend but constantly interrupted by notifications, so switched off for now.

I lose over 60 children to school so it’s alwsys a time of year I start to stress regarding replacing the leavers.

If you keep losing them not surprised you are stressed it's the parents I feel sorry for.

We had a great day with my brother. Saturday was a bad day for me after a good week.

So thought sunday might be bad and spoil the day. Luckily I felt good on the day.

When I was showing Rough Collies we took a pick of litter in lieu of a stud fee.

Puppy arrived at 8 weeks old but for various reasons we did not get round to naming him quickly.

As you know puppies can be a handful but this one was something else.

He was always in mischief and kept being told.

Started to recognise IF so it became his name.

Got some interesting responses from judges over the years when using his name in the ring.

It was a bit ironic he had such a short name because the full one was:

I think I still have a photo of him winning his first Challenge Certificate as puppy.

Weekend here was busy as usual and a trip up the hospital due to water infection ! So that was my weekend up the Swany! 

Ha yes I would be stressed losing 60 children. I used to get upset when they were going because you form such an attachment when you have them from babies through to pre school but over the years I’ve hardened (in a nice way ) and I enjoy how much they have achieved while in our care so im

proud to send them off to ‘big school” with a head start . 

Yes I believe in man flu. Why; because it’s reall !! 😜

I have just started the Brass Monkey 10% reduction  taper. 

Symptoms not good at the moment. the way I figure it is I was in poop out so stability for me if I go real slow will come on the way down at some point . Hopefully.

@Altostrata  I hope you will be able to help me with a question I have.

i decreased pregabalin I was taking from 3x25mg daily  to 1x25mg daily from April to July 2019, going down 25mg each month.  I was only on 2x50mg from November 2018 to January 2019 and from January 3x25mg until April.  I have been on 25mg for 4 weeks and I think I'm either getting symptoms from cutting my dose or it is no longer masking my Seroxat wd symptoms.

i am currently on 8.1mg seroxat having tapered too fast holding until yesterday from Feb this year.  Yesterday I commenced the brass monkey sliding taper.

i do not wish to go back up on the pregabalin but would contemplate increasing the 25mg tablet by 10% as you advice if this would quell the symptoms i am having .

these being increased anxiety and depression, very itchy skin, burning skin and increased tinnitus and vertigo as well as bad stomach cramps.  All either came on or increased just after the last drop of pregabalin exactly 4 weeks ago.

i know that you are going to say I tapered too fast but I was not taking this medication consistently and was only put on it in November 2018 to help with wd from seroxat.

will the symptoms fade if I remain consistent with the medication as it is or do you think a 10% increase would help?

 

here is a two day symptom pattern for you to see:

 

18/07/19

6am     woke up slept quite well woke on and off. 7 hrs. Cortisol spike on waking for approx 10 mins. Vertigo on rising

8am     Seroxat 8.4mg feeling anxious (tense, edgy, fast heart etc)

9am      Work.  feel very anxious and depressed.  Stomach cramps 

9.15am breakfast 100mg magnesium

10am     25mg pregabalin

1pm.     Costa coffee decaf  light headed and anxious and depressed. Lunch 100mg magnesium

4pm       visit to solicitor      Anxious

4:45pm.  Home feeling calmer. Stomach cramps and itchy skin

5:15pm  walked Georgie my dog. Calm

7pm.       Partners house. Dinner. 100mg magnesium. Calm but stomach cramps

 

 

 

19/07/19

 

6am   Woke up.  Good sleep 😴 Cortisol spike lasted about 7-10mins.  Vertigo on rising

7am.   Showered feeling flat

8am.   8.4mg seroxat

9am.   Work.  Breakfast.  100mg magnesium.   Anxiety symptoms as above. Depression and ruminating thoughts 

10am. 25mg pregabalin

11am.   Hospital visit with partner.  Felt quite calm. Stomach cramps

1pm.    Met friend for coffee and lunch .  Feeling anxious.  100mg magnesium

5pm.    Walked Georgie .  Feeling calm

6:15pm. At daughters house.  Feeling nervous and horrible feelings of tingly skin

7pm.      Showered this is when itchy skin is really bad.  It started on my arm three weeks ago now all over

8pm.     At partners house.  Dinner.  100 mg magnesium .  Feeling calmer. Stomach cramps

10pm.   Bed
