This2shallpass
I feel like I’m in a dream, and color seems distorted, nothing seems real. My intrusive thoughts are what if scenarios in my head. I remember having them for awhile when trying to stabilize on Prozac. 2010- Celexa 20 mg 2012-lexapro 20mg 2015- lexapro 30mg October 2016- tried a too fast taper of lexapro and completely crashed. I reinstated 10mg after 3 months and it worked. December 2016- started to wean off lexapro with liquid and got off in April of 2018 got pregnant in June of 2018 and remained off lexapro no withdrawal symptoms. february 2019- right after I gave birth I started having withdrawal symptoms March 2019- reinstated 10mg lexapro, it made me very sick May 2019- did a successful Prozac bridge and immediately felt better. currently stabilized on 20mg Prozac Link to comment

This2shallpass
@Altostrata no I stabilized around may of 2020 on the cross over to Prozac. I didn’t have anymore symptoms. this started 8 weeks ago and I can’t figure out why. I’m assuming it was from drinking but I don’t understand how I could have been stable for 3 years and it could cause me to have these symptoms again. They are very similar to my wd symptoms to lexapro and the reinstatement of lex I did. 2010- Celexa 20 mg 2012-lexapro 20mg 2015- lexapro 30mg October 2016- tried a too fast taper of lexapro and completely crashed. This2shallpass
Hi everyone. I hope all is well and wish everyone continued healing. In the beginning of September my setback started to calm down and I was back to normal for an entire month. No symptoms. Starting last Thursday, I began to again have burning skin agitation etc. it seems alittle less then my first setback but just wondering if this is normal? I have read up a lot about setbacks and it seems they are short lived, but Im feeling really discouraged that I was fine for a month and it’s back. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you! 2010- Celexa 20 mg 2012-lexapro 20mg 2015- lexapro 30mg October 2016- tried a too fast taper of lexapro and completely crashed. I reinstated 10mg after 3 months and it worked. This2shallpass
I was drinking alcohol for 2 years on and off before this began, so I’m questioning why now since it wasn’t the first time I had drank. also, I’ve read that Prozac is notorious for poop-out. Moderator Onmyway Posted January 12 Moderator Share Posted January 12 Hi @This2shallpass, good for getting the same manufacturer - even though the ingredients are the same there are small differences that may impact you. So better to stick with the same manufacturer as much as you can. I agree that the vasovagal attack is likely from the anxiety, the medicine difference wouldn't impact you that quickly and that intensely. Have you had those before? Lots of people get dysautonomia from withdrawal so that may increase your risk of such attacks. Glad you are all set with the new manufacturer OMW "Nothing so small as a moment is insurmountable, and moments are all that we have. Moderator Onmyway Posted January 16 Moderator Share Posted January 16 (edited) Hi @This2shallpass, alcohol basically destabilized your nervous system. If you had sprained your ankle, think of the effect of alcohol on your nervous system as the effect of re-spraining on your ankle before it healed. It is painful and takes you back to the beginning, perhaps even a bit worse. When unhealed, ankles are much easier to re-sprain because they are not fully stable yet and it turns you back in time. The thing to do is to basically apply the same coping mechanisms you did before and expect that with patience it will slowly get better. Keep the rest of your life as stable as you can and things will start getting back to normal. This2shallpass
I’m going on 8 months from a setback I believe was induced by alcohol and severe stress. Oh how I wish I could turn back time, I was stable for 3 years and was about to begin tapering. This2shallpass
Hi everyone. It’s been 8 months since I’ve been struggling with an alcohol setback years after being stabilized. It’s been windows and waves and last week I felt like I turned a corner, until Sunday, when I tested positive for covid. I’m really nervous all my progress will be lost bc of this. I tried to search the site to see others stories but I couldn’t find much. Has covid set people back? 2010- Celexa 20 mg 2012-lexapro 20mg 2015- lexapro 30mg October 2016- tried a too fast taper of lexapro and completely crashed. Moderator bunchesofoats Posted February 24 Moderator Share Posted February 24 Hi @This2shallpass, I have seen studies and articles such as this one finding a relationship between covid and changes in serotonin/correlation with effects that are similar to withdrawal. I had covid in December and it was rough. Once the fever was over, I had about another week of what I'll call a deep sensation of dread. It however passed after another week. I don't know much about poopout, or how that experience may interact with covid. For covid, I suggest getting fresh air and sun where you can, and drinking plenty of water. If you can walk around and get the blood flowing a bit, even better. I wouldn't consider it so much a setback as another step on the winding path of recovery. 2005 - 2016 on & off methylphenidate and bupropion; short terms trials of other medications; tried many supplements 2016 Nov - 2017 Mar citalopram ramp up 0-->30mg (4 months) 2017 Mar - 2018 Jan held at 30mg (11months); taking 1.5x 20mg tablets, cutting 20mg tablets in half. inconsistency in split tablet led to extreme side effects. 2018 Feb - 2018 May taper 30mg-->20mg (3months), ~2.5mg/month, cutting tablets; at 20mg side effects (vertigo, headache, etc) disappeared 2018 May - 2019 Apr held at 20mg (11months); attempted taper from 20mg; tried ~17.5mg cutting tablets but symptoms too strong 2019 Apr - 2021 Jun tapered 20mg-->10mg (26months); ~5%/month dissolving tablets in water and pipetting with syringe; min lorazepam 2-3x/mo to mitigate symptoms 2021 Jun - 2023 Nov held at 10mg (29months) 2023 Nov - Nov 7 10mg solid to liquid; Dec 7 liquid 10mg; Dec 14 9.9mg; Dec 21 9.8mg; Dec 28 9.75mg; Jan 27 9.65mg; Feb 3 9.53mg; Feb 18 9.45mg Link to comment
This2shallpass
I believe I was turning a corner until I got covid last week. I’m testing negative today and my symptoms are less but I’m in a horrible horrible wave, I haven’t been in one this severe since November. I’m so upset, please if anyone has had a covid wave, how long did it last, did it severely set you back? Administrator KenA Posted March 1 Administrator Share Posted March 1 Nope, just a temporary setback. The progress you have made is still there. Covid is not going to undo the healing that you have already accomplished. Once the nerves are healed, they are healed. 1 2010-2011 - Tramadol - Can't remember dosage 2011 - CT Quit Tramadol 2011-2019 - St Johns Wart - Started out at 3 Pills a day (300 MG) and increased to 6 per day over the years August 2019 - CT Quit St Johns (Told by Hospital Dr to Stop Taking due to increased BP) September 2019 - Citalopram 10mg - Approx 2 weeks - CT Quit September 2019 - October 2019 - Clonazepam .5mg - Approx 3 weeks - CT Quit Drug Free Since October 5th 2019 Link to comment
This2shallpass
Hi everyone. Just looking for some hope as I’m devastated, I was healing from my setback until covid in February. I also just had a few decent days recently but I’m currently in a wave and I’m just questioning everything, is this still a setback? Is it long covid? I don’t know how much longer I can do this I’ve been battling for 9 months. I turned a corner in February and then got covid and felt like it threw me to the beginning. 2010- Celexa 20 mg 2012-lexapro 20mg 2015- lexapro 30mg October 2016- tried a too fast taper of lexapro and completely crashed. Moderator Onmyway Posted April 17 Moderator Share Posted April 17 This is a bit simplified but bioavailability should be within 20% of other manufacturer's pills. At 20mg you should not feel too much but given your withdrawal history, you might. Should be same pattern as tapering. Prozac had a long half live so this could take weeks. If you can avoid changing manufacturers, do. You don't need the extra changes. "Nothing so small as a moment is insurmountable, and moments are all that we have.
